How do I connect my bank account and get it to show transactions further back than just 90 days??

Hello Userinfo47,

Welcome to the Community page,

So when connecting the bank up it only brings in 90 days worth of transactions, if you need more than 90 days you will then need to csv the rest of the transactions into your account. This link will help you to do this.

How do I connect my bank account and get it to show transactions further back than just 90 days??

Hello there, @userinfo47.

You're able to connect your bank account through the Banking page in QuickBooks Online (QBO). With the Open Banking regulation, you can retrieve up to 24 months of historical data when connecting your account for the first time.

Before we start, you'll have to make sure your bank supports Open Banking. Once you're ready to connect your bank account, you can refer to the following steps:

  1. Go to the Banking menu.
  2. Select Connect from the landing page, or select Add account if you already have an account.
  3. Search for your bank and select Continue.
  4. Read through the terms and conditions, then select Agree.
  5. Follow the steps on your bank's internet banking page to authorise QuickBooks to connect to your bank account.
  6. Select the bank accounts you want to connect, and which accounts they will link to in QuickBooks.
  7. Click Connect

After that, your transactions will automatically downloads and available for checking in the For review tab. All you have to do is review and/or match them to the existing entries in QuickBooks. For the step-by-step guide, you can check out this article: Categorise and match online bank transactions in QuickBooks Online. It also includes details about excluding personal or duplicate transactions.

Additionally, I'd recommend reconciling your accounts every month. This is to effectively monitor your income, expenses, and the growth of your business. You can refer to this article for the detailed steps: Reconcile an account in QuickBooks Online. It also contains instructions on how to review past reconciliations.

How do I connect my bank account and get it to show transactions further back than just 90 days??

Thank you for your reply it’s very well detailed! I tried this and I put a date that I wanted it to go back to (October 2019) but after it loaded and opened the transactions still only went back by 90 days. I also tried to just upload a transaction report file, but it said that the file was too big to be uploaded, so this is proving to be more complicated than it should be.

How do I connect my bank account and get it to show transactions further back than just 90 days??

Hello,

I'm currently using QBSE and I'm wondering if I would be able to access the open banking as I'd like to be able to connect to transactions further back than 90 days. Would it work as you mentioned for QBO?

Yes, open banking is available in QuickBooks Self-Employed, Karen333. Let me guide you.

First, you'll have to connect your bank account to our program. Once it's connected, the recent transactions will be downloaded automatically.

Then, you can import older transactions manually.

Lastly, you'll have to categorise the transactions
