Hello there, @usernicoleflatman.
I hear you an realize the importance of connecting your bank in QuickBooks Self-Employed. I'm here to help get this banking issue sorted out.
To start with, can you share with me the name of the bank that you’re trying to connect to? This way, I’ll be able to check here on my end if there are any related issues about it. Any further details about this matter are much appreciated.

I’m here to help so you’ll be able to connect your Lloyds bank to QuickBooks, @usernicoleflatman.
The instructions provided by my peer above are for QuickBooks Self-Employed account on a web browser. Since you’re using an app, you can perform some steps here so you can connect your Lloyds bank to QuickBooks seamlessly.
Before that, it would be best to visit your bank's website to check if there’s ongoing system maintenance or updates. Please know that any changes made from your bank affect your QuickBooks connection too.
Here’s how:
If there are no updates stated, you can reset your app data to fix issues. Just tap the Help menu, then click the Reset App Data option. After, try to connect your bank once again. You can also log in to your QBSE account through a web browser and connect the account from there.
If the same things happen, you may consider importing your bank transactions manually to QuickBooks. This way, you can manage and categorise your transactions.
Don’t hesitate to let us know if you have additional banking concerns. We’ll be here to help you out. Keep safe!
