Hi there, CraigWooff.

Welcome to the Community. I'd be glad to assist you in reconnecting your NatWest bank to QuickBooks.

I suggest checking your bank's website since it keeps you to try again even you're done reconnecting. There may be an issue on their end and it loses connection with QBO every time there are updates.

Here's how:

  1. Click the Banking tab at the left panel.
  2. Select on Add Account.
  3. Search for your bank and select it.
  4. Choose the URL listed in the window.
  5. Sign in using your bank website username and password.
  6. Check your account page for messages, notifications, or alerts. Any display or login issues on the bank’s end can block downloads.
  7. Also, check your bank’s website for any new security requirements. Even something as simple as updating your bank password can block QuickBooks.
  8. If everything looks good, go back to the Banking tab in QBO
  9. Select the blue tile for the bank account and hit Update.

If the issue continue to occur, I recommend using a private browser when reconnecting. This is to verify if this is caused by the system or your browser.

You can use the keyboard shortcuts below:

  • Chrome: Ctrl+Shift+N

  • Internet Explorer: Ctrl+Shift+P

  • Firefox: Ctrl+Shift+P

  • Safari: Command+Shift+N

Once done, try to reconnect bank account again. Check to see if it works. If they are, then your main browser may have too much historical data from previously visited websites which slows down internal processes and causes this kind of behavior.

To ensure this doesn't happen again, you'll need to clear the cache of the browser you're using. Please check this article to see the steps: Clear cache and cookies to fix issues when using QuickBooks Online. This also contains steps for the supported browsers.

Also, if you encounter any online banking error, please refer to this article about fixing online banking issues in QuickBooks for more troubleshooting steps: What to do if bank transactions won’t download or there's a bank error.

Please don't hesitate to post again if you have other questions related with QuickBooks. Community is always here to help you.
