Currently, we're unable to change the initially imported date range, Paul. However, we can prevent duplicating transactions by first filtering the date range and then excluding them.
You can follow the steps below:
- Navigate Transactions and then select Bank transactions.
- Click the Filter icon.
- (Optional) Fill in the following fields: Account, Transaction type, Category.
- Select Custom Date from the Date drop-down.
- Pick dates in the From and To fields.

- Hit Apply.
Once done, if this is your first time importing transactions, you can remove any incorrect entries by checking the box before the Date column and clicking Exclude to permanently delete them.

Moving forward, we recommend that you download your transactions from the bank using the appropriate date range. Once downloaded, kindly edit them using a designated application before re-importing them back into the system.
I'll provide this resource for additional insights, which will serve as your reference for deleting entries in the Bank transactions tab: Exclude bank transactions in QuickBooks Sole Trader.
Once all is set, this guide can assist you in quickly categorising the imported entries: Create a bank rule.
