Hi Greenvalegm, waiting for updates after being used to instant syncing on QuickBooks Online Self-Employed (QBSE) can feel slow. Let’s figure out the cause and get things back on track.

To get a better idea of what can be causing the delay, can I ask which financial institution your account is linked to? Any additional information would be appreciated.

This change is being implemented to align with UK Open Banking standards. The previous app used a fast but less secure method known as "screen scraping." In contrast, the new version employs a regulated API connection. Consequently, most UK banks now send data in 24-hour batches, overnight, rather than processing transactions in real-time.

To speed up the syncing process, we recommend manually refreshing your bank transactions.

Here’s how:

  1. Go to the Banking section.
  2. Look for the Refresh or Update button, and tap it to pull the latest transactions directly from your bank.

Please note that refreshing manually can bring in duplicate transactions. If that happens, you can easily remove them by selecting the duplicates and choosing Exclude.
