Thanks for bringing this to our attention, @richturnbull-pro.
The error message your receive when creating an expense transaction is sometimes caused by your browser’s cache or cookies. Don't worry, we can clear them so you can keep track of your expenses accordingly.
First, let's access your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account using a private or incognito window. You can utilize these keyboard shortcuts to save time:
- Safari: Command + Shift + N
- Mozilla Firefox: CTRL + Shift + P
- Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge: CTRL + Shift + N
Once signed in, select Expense/Expenditure from the + New button to create an expense transaction. Enter the correct payment account and other details.
If you're able to do so without an issue, return to your regular browser and clear its cache. After that, log out and then log back into your account. This will refresh the system and remove older data that causes viewing and performance issues.
If the issue persists, I'd recommend using other supported browsers.
