Importing credit card .CSV files

I'm struggling to import credit card CSV files. The account is set up as a credit card account. When I imported the CSV file all the payments and expenditure were the wrong way round. Face palm moment, so I created a new column in my CSV file where everything was multiplied by -1 so that I had my amounts the right way round. I excluded the incorrect transactions from QB and tried the import a second time, selecting my new negative column as my Amount column. This time every transaction came in as payment received even though some are negative and others are positive...

How do I import these transactions for a credit card the right way round? TIA

Importing credit card .CSV files

Hi there, Pru1.

Let me assist you in importing the credit card transactions.

We should map the CSV file correctly to import the transactions successfully. We can use either of the 2 formats when importing transactions. Please check this article to see the sample formats: Import bank transactions using Excel CSV files.

We can also perform some troubleshooting steps to see if they were imported the wrong way because of the browser error. Let's start by using an incognito window and import the file from there. We can also clear the browser's cache since it can cause errors in QuickBooks Online.

Lastly, make sure the browser is updated. If this issue continues, please reach out to our Customer Support Team so they can investigate this further. Simply go to Help and select Contact Us.

I've added this article for your reference on how to categorise and match online bank transactions in QuickBooks Online.

Post again here if you need more help. Have a great day and stay safe!
