Welcome to the Community page,
Metro bank is on open banking now so you will be able to connect your account to it.
If you are having any issues let us know we will be glad to work with you in getting them resolved.
Here is a list of all the banks that are currently available on open banking.
It's just the same ever since the open banking came in. So I see this message:
Update data via file upload
Standard Feed New connection was removed for Metro Bank, ERobinson1.
We have received a report that the open banking connection for this bank is unavailable. Our engineers are working closely on this to get this fixed as soon as possible.
In the meantime, you can use the CSV file to upload bank transactions in QuickBooks Online. Here's an article for more information and detailed steps: Manually Upload Transactions In QuickBooks Online.
To make sure that that your accounts match your bank statement, you can reconcile them in QBO. You can visit this article for your reference: Reconcile An Account in QuickBooks Online.
Reply to this thread if you need further assistance. I'll always make sure to get back.
Let me provide you an update about the issue.
The open banking connection of the bank is still unavailable. In compliance with the Open banking connection, our engineers are still working together with your financial institution. We are waiting for confirmation with your bank to make this available as soon as possible.
For now, I cannot tell when the Metro bank Open Banking connection will be available. While waiting, you may consider manually importing transactions from your bank. You can still follow the article given by my colleague MariaSoledadG above.
We appreciate your patience while waiting for the permanent fix. Comment below if you have other concerns. Keep safe!
Thanks for joining us here, Abigail 1.
Is your Metro Bank already connected through Open Banking? If not, you'll need to switch to Open Banking to be able to use the automatic download of banking transactions. Standard Feed for some banks, including Metro, have been removed in compliance in compliance with Open Banking regulations.
Follow the steps in this article on how you can switch over: Connect your bank feed using Open Banking.
If you're already using Open Banking, please contact our support team. They'll able to take a closer look at this to determine why all Metro accounts were disconnected.
The Community is always here if you need anything else.
My Metro Bank connection stopped working (Again!) a few days ago with the error: "Sorry, we can’t update your account. Please wait a few hours and try updating again.(163)".
Quickbooks support are being as useless as usual.
Anyone else had this issue?
Anyone got some advice?
we are aware of this current issue our customers are experiencing with the metro bank and getting an error of 163. Our engineers are currently working on getting this fixed as soon as possible for our customers. In the meantime, the workaround is to CSV/import your transactions into your account until this issue has been resolve.
Downloading a CSV is fine if you have access to the bank, but many users are accountants who do not have this access. I cannot ask my client to download their banking transactions for me to upload. What a joke of a system. Xero here I come.
Allow me to share additional information about the connection between Metro Bank and QuickBooks.
The Metro Bank was previously set up for open banking but because of some updates, there are issues encountered when trying to connect this bank to QuickBooks Online (QBO). Rest assured our engineers are working closely with your financial institution to provide a better connection as quickly as possible.
At this time, you can continue to bring your bank transactions to QBO by importing an Excel CSV file until the new connection becomes available. For the detailed instructions, check out the topics from this link: Manually upload transactions into QuickBooks Online.
Also, I encourage reaching out to our Support Team so a representative can add you to the open investigation (INV-42813) and automatically receive email notification of the latest updates. To contact support, tap on the Contact us button from the Help menu.
As always, feel free to read the topics from our help articles for additional guides while working with QuickBooks in the future.
Post again if you have any other questions. I'm always here to help you out. Keep safe always, @ERobinson1!
Another piece of brilliant support from Quickbooks.
I am so disappointed with the support provided. An issue with Barclays and actually the community sorted it out not Quickbooks.
Now Metro bank - Speaking to Quickbooks and every time there is a different story and timeline, Then after having had extensive conversations with Metro bank and its clear Quickbooks has dropped the ball and not bothered to sort their connection with them. Other providers are connecting to Metro without issue.
Now the solution I have found and it has worked a few times, is to actually delete the bank and re-install the connection to Metro bank. It doesn't always work the first time but most recently it took three goes, but then it works. Make sure you note the last date you downloaded transactions and start the download from that date.
Not a perfect solution but it will save the embarrassment of having to ask your clients to download their banking transactions every month just because the system they are paying for is not fully functional.
I've started using Xero for one of our group companies since Quickbooks dropped the ball with Metrobank. I can also access Starling, Monzo, HSBC, and Barclays which means that Xero has followed through.
I'm going to move the last company account from Quickbooks to Xero if I can't get a date to fix it. There is some product manager in Quickbooks who is saying to the customers "let them eat cake". Well Marie Antoinette, not having live bank information means that Quickbooks isn't useful for most business people.
Why have quick overview dashboards or fast invoicing when you can't see whether or not someone paid an invoice or not; or how much money you have.
I don't think you realise in the year 2020 how important this is. Can someone give me a date or alternatively I'm leaving.
Oh, and please stop with the it's Open Banking Regulations. The regulations were published in 2017 and you've had three years to figure it out. XERO didn't miss a single day. Please get it fixed now.
