Error Code 101 Capital One

I have tried this for several hours and multiple times and KEEP getting an error code 101, saying that the "online banking" is not available.  Could not find any threads related to this specific thread when linking their Capital One Credit Card to their QB's online.

Hi Marquettedds,

I'd like to look a bit further into this for you, first and foremost, clear your cache and cookies on the browser you're using - here's a guide to completing this: - https://community.intuit.com/articles/1145697-how-do-i-clear-temporary-internet-files-and-cache

I can't see any trends or regular issues across the Capital One front currently, are you able to log into your Capital One Online Banking account Direct?

Are you using the US or UK QBO product?

Thanks,

Hello there, @marquettedds.

I'll make sure your Capital One banking connection is up and running in no time. The 101 error indicates that the log-in credentials aren't being accepted in the extension you're trying to sign in to within QuickBooks. There may be several extensions under the Capital One portfolio, so you'll need to verify which one is associated with your online banking account. I'll guide you through determining this below:

1. Navigate to the Capital One website where you log in to your online banking. Try signing in to verify your credentials are up-to-date.

2. Once you've successfully signed in, log back out. From the log-in screen, copy the URL from the bar at the top of your browser.

3. Head to QuickBooks Online and navigate to the Banking tab. Click Add account and paste the URL in the search bar. Select the appropriate extension and attempt signing in again.

This will ensure you're connecting to the correct Capital One extension in QuickBooks. You'll find a guide on connecting bank feeds in QBO at this link.

If the error persists after this, some browser troubleshooting may be necessary. I recommend attempting the connection from a private browsing window. This forces QBO to download a fresh copy of each piece of data necessary to link with Capital One. The process for doing so will vary based on what you're using, but most Windows-based browsers share a common keyboard shortcut:

1. From within your browser, press CTRL+Shift+N to open a private window.

2. Navigate back to QBO and head to the Banking tab.

3. Attempt the connection again from here using the same method as explained above.

This process will help the Capital One feed connect without error. Touch base with me on your results, I'm here to ensure your success. Thanks for reaching out and have a wonderful rest of your day.

I waited and tried it a few hours later and it spontaneously allowed me to proceed.  I will remember these tips if I have issues in the future. Thanks!

It's my pleasure, @marquettedds.

I'm glad to hear your Capital One feed is up and running. Be sure to let me know if there's anything else I can help you accomplish with QuickBooks. Thanks again, have an awesome weekend!

I SOLVED THE PROBLEM!  The issue revolved around capital one not authorizing quickbooks to have access to the accounts.  When you are on the banking tab, click the "Add Account" button in the upper right hand corner.  In my case I searched for my bank, "Capital One Spark Business".  Once I passed through a few screens it brought up all of my accounts and I had to select them all and click the "Authorize" button.  After doing that go back to the banking screen and hit the update button a few times.  This issue has been pissing me off for almost 2 months.  So happy I finally found a solution!  Good luck to everyone else struggling with this issue.
