Hi all I have added a manual savings account via the chart of account section. How can I see this savings account on the banking tab?

Thanks for sharing some clarification about your concern, @SPRC,

The Banking page in QuickBooks is used for reviewing downloaded transactions before they are added into individual registers. This means that the accounts displayed in there is either set up for online banking or are importing bank files manually .

If you want to see the Manual Savings Account in the Bank Feed but can't connect it online, you may opt to upload the transactions manually. Download the data from your financial institution then map the transactions in a Comma-Separated Values file (CSV).

Please see this article to know more about the steps: How to import bank transactions using Excel CSV files?

Once the file is ready, start importing the file to your QuickBooks Online company. Follow these steps:

  1. Click Banking from the left navigation panel.
  2. Locate File Upload from the Update drop-down or Upload transactions manually if there isn’t any bank connected to QBO.
  3. Select Browse and choose the file you downloaded.
  4. Choose an account from the list, then Next.
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions to map the fields.
  6. Pick the transactions to import, then click Yes and Let’s go.

For the information and steps on importing these files, see this article: Manually upload transactions into QuickBooks Online.

Once imported successfully, you will now see the account in the Banking menu including the transactions for reviewing. Check out this link for more information on how to manage bank entries: Categorise and match online bank transactions in QuickBooks Online.

You've come to the right place, @SPRC.

Below are the instructions to help you get your savings account viewed on the banking page.

First, make sure you've connected your savings account to online banking. Here's how:

  1. Go to Accounting, then Chart of Accounts.
  2. Find your savings account. Then, click the ▼ arrow under Action column.
  3. Select Connect bank. Follow the onscreen instructions.

Then, let's check your account from the banking page.

  1. Go to Banking, then Banking at the top.
  2. Click the drop-down arrow beside your bank's name in the Bank and Cards section.
  3. Select your savings account.

With these steps, you'll be able to see your savings account in the banking tab. You can learn more about connecting bank account at this link here: Connect bank and credit card accounts to QuickBooks Online.

You can also check out his handy article about finding the downloaded bank transactions that I'm sure you'll find helpful. This article contains detailed steps on how to find missing transactions and other related resources.

That'll do it. Please know that you're always welcome to come back to this thread if you have other concerns. We're always here to help. Thanks for posting. Cheers!

Hi thanks for replying, but you haven't understood.

I CANNOT connect the bank. It doesn't allow an online connection. As such, when I did as you suggested, clicked on connect bank, nothing came up and the account is still not visible on the banking tab.

This is a manually added account. It is NOT A CONNECTED ACCOUNT. I can add transaction manually. I just cannot figure out how to make it appear on the banking tab alongside our connected account.

Thx
