How can I check if I have entered a deposit twice?

Hi there, @yvonne19632022-h.

 

I'm here to provide outlines on how to find transactions in QuickBooks Online.

 

Even though there isn't a way to look for duplicate transactions, we can use Sorting and Filtering tools to identify these items.

 

Let's go ahead to the Chart of Accounts to see the transactions.

 

Here's how:

 

  1. Navigate to the Gear icon, and click the Chart of Accounts.
  2. We can filter the transaction in the Filter by name section beside the Batch Action dropdown.
  3. Click the Payment or Deposit column to sort the list by their Amounts. They'll automatically be sub-sorted by their Date.
  4. Now you can search for duplicate Amounts/Dates to consider them for deletion.

 

If you wish to delete them, we can double-click the transaction on the Chart of Account page, then select Delete from the View Register and click Yes.

Once everything looks good, you can start reconciling your accounts whenever you're ready.
