Natwest will not connect

Please can someone help me. Im close to giving up with QBs.

I have not been able to reconnect QB self employed uk to my Natwest account (personal account) since January. When I try on desktop I can't even get to the page to enter my bank details. I have tried browsers Chrome, Safari and Brave. Cache and cookies have been cleared.

When I try on mobile it says it is unable to connect - please see screenshot. All my details are correct, the bank has not been down for maintenance.

I have tried several times over the course of several months. I see Im not the only person who has issues connecting their bank account. Please will someone help me to resolve this.

Hello there, @CrisL.

Allow me to provide some insights on why you're unable to connect your bank account to QuickBooks Self-Employed.

Being unable to reconnect your bank account in the system can be caused by the new banking regulation. It means that the bank data can only be downloaded into QuickBooks through Open Banking. That said, you'll need to upgrade your connection so can sync your transactions.

For those financial institutions that do not support this feature, are advised to manually import their bank transactions using CSV file uploads until the new connection is made available.

Here's a link that can guide you on how to upload your bank transactions in QBSE: Learn how to get transactions from before you connected your accounts.

You may check out these articles below to upgrade your connection and see what are those financial institutions that currently supports this feature:

Please know that our system is updating the bank feeds to comply with new Open Banking regulations.

You can always leave a reply below if you have any other questions. I'll make sure you're all set. Have a nice day!

Thank you.

Unfortunately this is the problem Im having on desktop. I go through the steps to upgrade, authorise my account details to be shared and then this window pops up with RESOLVING HOST at the bottom and it doesnt go any further. The bank does currently support open banking.

I have cleared my cache and cookies. I have tried on safari, chrome and brave browsers. Please see the attached screenshot which shows the pop up box. Thanks again for your kind help, I hope you can assist further.

Hello CrisL,

Yes it is apple because I literally don't have anything else.

I appreciate you trying your best but Apple are used heavily by the creative industries all over the world and count for over 12% of all computers worldwide. I don't think its fair to expect people to accept that your platform no longer works with apple? Or if that is the case let people know so they can switch to a different system.

So because I use apple am I at the end of the road here?

could you try these, one or more should resolve it for you.

  • complete an NVRAM reset (contact Apple support or search for the process)
  • Reset the router
  • Use a diffferent network
  • Use a non Apple computer.

Let us know how you get on

This is crazy you blame apple for this if you can’t supply the service people pay for you should not be charging for the service! Quick books need to sort this out with apple ASAP otherwise they will lose most of their customers. You can’t just expect people to change their whole operating systems it’s ridiculous! It’s quickbooks problems not the customers! Sort yourself out quickbooks

Same issue here using MacBook all was fine until recently.

Why are users being asked to buy a non-Apple laptop to fix this issue when surely it is a software issue and not a hardware issue????

I wonder what or if intuit has had any contact with Apple developers about this or are Intuit just washing their hands of this segment of its customers?
