Yorkshire Bank - Unable to Connect

Hi,

I have seen a number of other threads, all which seem to end without a final response. I have a business bank account with Yorkshire Bank.

The link to login is https://cybg.ybonline.co.uk/cyb/online-banking/bapp/homepage?customer_type=business

The two possible logins you have on your website are http://www.ybonline.co.uk/ and/or http://www.cybusinessonline.co.uk/

Neither of the above work.  The latter seems better as it asks for User ID (which is what the actual login asks for), however both return error 103.

Yorkshire Bank - Unable to Connect

Hi,

Unfortunately after a few weeks of discussions with support, it looks as though you do not support Yorkshire Business Bank Accounts.

Their accounts require authentication by the mobile app. When attempting to use the Cylesdale and Yorkshire option, it errors straight with 103. The mobile app does not signal that authentication is required. The other option available in the list is Yorkshire, but this does not enable you to enter a User ID.

I hope others see this that may end up in the same situation.

Yorkshire Bank - Unable to Connect

Good day, @nlangton,

You're on the right track, connecting your account. There's just a few possible reasons why you’re prompted with Error 103 in QuickBooks Online. Here are some:

  • Your bank recently made some changes with their security feature or connection.
  • Your financial institution's credentials set up in QBO is incorrect.

To rectify this, let's try refreshing your bank connection in QuickBooks. Follow the steps below if you recently made any changes to your bank login:

  1. Go to the Banking menu.
  2. Find the account that generated Error 103.
  3. Click on the pencil icon.
  4. Hit the Edit sign-in info.
  5. Input your log in credentials, then click Update.

For first time connection, refresh it by performing the steps below:

  1. Click the Banking menu.
  2. Tap on the Add Account button.
  3. Locate your bank and click to select it.
  4. Copy the URL listed in the window.
  5. Sign in using your bank login credentials.
  6. Update all necessary information.

However, if you keep getting the same problem, I highly recommend contacting our QuickBooks Online Care Team. They can check if there are similar reports from other users and help open an investigation on this unexpected behavior. Here's how you can get our contact information:

  1. Click the (?) Help menu at the top right section of your QBO Dashboard.
  2. Tap the Contact us button.

Please update me on how the call goes. I'll be on a lookout for your reply as I want to make sure you're all set. Have a nice day!

Hi nlangton,

Could I please get you to try using a PC and when selecting your bank pasting in the address where you normally sign in for your online banking, this should then bring in the active link for your online banking connection.

Hi Edward. No that doesn't work. The link when active in internet banking shows unavailable when pasting into Quickbooks.

The link when logged in is https://cybg.ybonline.co.uk/cyb/online-banking/bapp/authentication?applyFor=IM135

Thanks for getting back to us, @nlangton.

Since you couldn't find your bank using the URL, this means that QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) doesn't support your bank. As an alternative, you can consider exporting and importing your bank transactions using a CSV file. Let me guide you how.

First off, you'll need to export data from your bank. Here's how:

  1. Sign in to your bank's website.
  2. Select the account with the data you want to export.
  3. Look for a button, link, or other info that describes downloading or exporting your data.
  4. Set the date range you want, and be sure to specify CSV as the file format.
  5. Follow the instructions to finish exporting your data.

Once done, you can now import your bank transactions into QBSE.

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Self-Employed account.
  2. Click the Gear icon.
  3. Select Imports.
  4. Choose the account you want to import.
  5. Follow the onscreen instruction to finish importing.

Here's an article you can read for more details: Import Transactions From Earlier Date Ranges.

You can also submit a request to add your bank in the future. Here's how:

  1. Click the Gear icon.
  2. Select Bank accounts.
  3. Paste the bank URL in the search box.
  4. Click Request support for your bank.
  5. Enter the Bank name and URL. (Make sure they're correct)
  6. Click Request.

You can check out this article for your reference: Problems Finding a Bank.

Please know that QuickBooks will add support for new banks based on the number of customer request and approvals from the bank.

You might also want to read this article to know more about categorizing transactions: Categorising & Editing Transactions in the Mobile App.

If you have any other questions, feel free to comment below. We're always here to help you.

Hi Mark,

Thanks for the information, I already knew about the downloading of transactions. However Quickbooks advertise quite significantly that they can connect to many banks which is part of the paid package. Unfortunately I cannot justify paying for a system that doesn't support my bank. Reading many other posts dating back over 12+ months with the same issue it doesn't look like you see it as anywhere near a priority item.

Just bought into Quickbooks Self-Employed and experienced the same issue. Disappointed that there seems to be no resolution strategy at Quickbooks, as the the issue goes back a long way.

Yorkshire Bank - Unable to Connect

Hello,

We are unable to resolve the issue with Yorkshire connections at the moment. The feed will be brought back once Open Banking is implemented as this is a direct connection with your bank. In the mean time, the only workaround is that mentioned of the .csv upload. We apologise for any inconvenience that this causes, our engineers are still looking into this for any further options, however that is the update directly from them for now.

Thanks,

Talia

Yorkshire Bank - Unable to Connect

Hello

I am a new customer to QuickBooks and also unable to Connect my Yorkshire Bank business account. I receive the 301 error.

Is this still a known issue with Yorkshire Bank? I log into Yorkshire Bank via - https://login-and-registration.ib.apps.ybonline.co.uk/.

This is the URL I am redirect to from - https://secure.ybonline.co.uk/

ybonline.co.uk is listed as a connection on QuickBooks so expect this to work

Please advise

Thanks for choosing QuickBooks Desktop for running your business, jamesw665. It's my top priority for you to connect your bank account for Online banking.

We haven't received any reported case about the banking error 301. This is a communication issue between your bank and QuickBooks, or company file. It could be also your account info changed or your financial institution hasn't turned on a service.

To better isolate this one, let's create a test company file to determine if the error is caused by your bank or something in the software.

Here's how:

  1. From the File menu, choose New Company.
  2. Hit Express Start.
  3. In the Setup window, enter all required info.
  4. Click Create Company.

If the same thing happens, there’s a problem with the connection from your bank. Just log in to your bank account on a browser, then check if you have any bank security notification. If there’s none, please reach out to your bank.

If you don't encounter the same error, the problem is in QuickBooks. To troubleshoot this one, proceed to Step 2 until Step 5 in this article: Get help with error OL 301 or 393.

I'm just one reply away if you need a hand with matching and categorizing the bank transactions or any QuickBooks related. I'm glad to help.

All the evidence is that QuickBooks Self Employed will not connect to Yorkshire Bank business accounts. The thread shows no resolution and advice that the bank is not supported.

Yorkshire Bank - Unable to Connect

Hi there, BJDEDUCATION.

QuickBooks Self-Employed allows you to connect your Yorkshire Bank accounts. I can show you the steps:

  1. Go to Transactions.
  2. Select Add account or connect your bank account.
  3. Search Yorkshire Bank in the field.
  4. Enter your log in credentials.
  5. Continue the steps to connect the bank account.

In case you get the error 103, this means that your banking credentials in QuickBooks Online are incorrect. Please enter the correct bank logins. We can also escalate this to our engineers by contacting us. We'll then check your account to see what's causing the error.

If you have other banking questions, please let us know. We are here to help.

Apologies, i meant 103 error.

I have spoken to someone at Quickbooks and they advised to check my credentials. I am 100% certain that I am entering the correct credentials (have even changed my password to make sure), however it is not allowing me to connect - still receive the 103 error

I have had this issue since purchasing QBSE last year. Error 103 occurs despite putting in correct credentials. I suspect that the Yorkshire Bank featured in QB is not the same as Yorkshire Bank Business Online banking. I have also tried the Clydesdale/Yorkshire link. Other posts suggest that this is not resolved by QB and that the business account is not supported. I am unable to link my account.

Quickbooks have a link with banks they can confirm should be working: Yorkshire Bank is still "pending" for Bank Feeds under the Opening Banking regulations so keep checking this link: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/learn-support/en-uk/help-articles/understanding-if-you-can-update-your...

Only the 9 largest banks and building societies are obligated to enrol for Open Banking https://www.openbanking.org.uk/about-us/glossary/ so if you are using any other banks you may experience issues as although it is in their best interest to enrol with Open Banking this is a voluntary option to them which means you may experience issues like this with third party software links like QuickBooks.

PLEASE PLEASE tell me that this is resolved. Yorkshire Bank appeared in the list of banks to choose from yesterday - but now that I am set up with my online banking it seems to have dissappeared from the quick books list of compatible accounts.

I have just switched to yorkshire bank on the advice that it was all compatible with quick books - if it is not am afraid I will be forced to take my business back to Santander - as I am entirely dependent on quickbooks online to manage my accounts.

Thank You

To all on this thread. Do not trust any information that you get from Quickbooks on this subject. I have been right through the process and the simple fact is that as of February 2020 Yorkshire Business Bank transactions cannot be imported into Quickbooks. QB have told me that this will not be possible until Yorkshire Bank are available for open banking. I am told that this started with the biggest banks first and that YB will be available ‘soon’. Until then you can only import bank transactions using a CSV file. It seems that various operatives at QB are not aware of this and provide either ‘how do to responses’ or completely wrong answers.

THANK YOU

Perhaps Quick Books would like to take notice and do something to resolve this... before they lose customers. As unless it is resolved as a matter of urgency I will be forced to take my business elsewhere.

Unless QBO can directly resolve the problem there is little point at this stage.

The issue seems to be with Yorkshire Bank not being registered which is preventing me (and others) connecting bank accounts to QBO.

But thanks for trying. Again. To provide a 'helpful' response.
