Recommend a Bank

Can someone recommend a UK Bank that actually works with Quickbooks? I currently use HSBC and have been able to download the Current account and my Business Card until open banking came along and it now looks like I can only link the current account.

I just want a Bank that with a Current Account and Business/Credit Card linked to Quickbooks.

All recommendations welcome!

I have some steps to determine if your bank will be supported with QuickBooks Online, PeterSM.

You'll want to follow these steps to search for your bank:

  1. Log in to your QuickBooks Online account.
  2. Go to Banking on the left panel.
  3. Click the Connect account button, and search for the bank's name in the search field. As long as your bank appears on the list of search results, you'll know it's supported.
  4. Select the bank and you will be asked to log in.
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions to connect.

Here's an article for more information: Connect bank and credit card accounts to QuickBooks Online

If you can't find your bank, you can follow the instructions here: Find your bank account when you connect to online banking.

Please let me know if you need more help with QuickBooks Online Banking. Stay safe.

Yes and HSBC business is there. But I cannot connect to the Business Card.

I also have 13 emails from QBOE Support saying they have solved the issue.

They have not.

The list only includes HSBC, Barclays and Paypal.

Can anyone recommend Barclays Business?

I appreciate you for providing some information about your banking issue, @PeterSM. But you've got me here to share more insights about this, and how to take care of it.

You're on the right track in reviewing the list of supported banks in QBO. We value data security in this forum. Because of this, we're unable to recommend any banks you can connect to the software. However, I'd suggest checking out this link to verify if Barclays Business supports this Open Banking feature: Understanding If You Can Upgrade Your Bank Feeds To Open Banking. Just locate the bank in the Financial Institution column.

On the other hand, contacting our support team is one way to help resolve your HSBC Business Card connection issue. But since it persists after getting 13 emails from them, I'd suggest downloading the transactions from the bank using a CSV file. Then, manually upload the file into the program.

After that, let's go to the For Review tab from the Banking page. That way, you can check if there are duplicate transactions since you've uploaded a CSV file. If there are any, I recommend excluding them.

However, if there are no duplicates, you can continue editing and categorising your HSBC transactions. Doing so will help you ensure your financial records are correct. To learn more about this process, visit this article: Categorising Bank Transactions

Also, I'd want to make sure this banking issue will be taken care of. Did you receive any error messages when trying to reconnect HSBC Business Card to QBO? This helps me provide further steps to resolve it. You can click the Reply button below to add some details.

I'll be right here to help if you need anything else. Take care always, @PeterSM

Quickbooks support is beyond poor.

2 weeks ago I was okay connecting but they every error you get now is due to "open banking".

I will be moving to another accounting software soon.

Interesting there appears to be no recommendations for banks that work with QuickBooks.

Hi there, PeterSM.

As mentioned by my colleague above, we value data security here in the QuickBooks Community. That being said, we're unable to recommend any bank since every bank uses a different connection. QuickBooks Online supports several banks to connect. However, because of the regulation upgrade or due to system change in open banking, we are not able to connect transactions automatically.

For now, I suggest to manually import your transactions as recommended above. Doing this, your bank entries will add to online banking in QBO.

Please check these articles to see some information about open banking and to view a table that contains which bank already established for open banking:

Please know that you're always welcome to post if you have any other concerns. Wishing you and your business continued success.
