Reconnect to Barclays Bank

Has anyone sorted the reconnect issue with Barclays. I just go round in a circle everytime, no errors & says re-connected but wont update any bank transactions just takes me through exactly the same procedure! Help its driving me crazy

Hello accounts297 👋 Thanks for reaching to the Community. I can only imagine the frustrations, Have you tried any troubleshooting steps to see if this will resolve your issue? You could clear cache and cookies  and try the re-connection again, You could also try a different Browser, If you could try the troubleshooting steps let me know how you get on. Thanks.

Seriously Quickbooks stop with the troubleshooting steps, they don't work.

You know this is a problem that you have not found a fix for.  Just be transparent and save everyone a lot of time.

Good day to all, 

 

I'm here to let you know what happened why we're experiencing issues with Barclays. 

 

There some changes and improvements that will be added to the security and connection between Barclays and QuickBooks Online. That's why we're temporarily unable to use the direct banking connection. If you can see a banner in the Banking tab about Barclays, we can click on it to re-authenticate the connection.

 

While our engineers are doing the updates, we can still bring in the transaction by using the web connect. What we need to do is to log in to your Barclays account and get a file that contains all the transactions for a specific period. You can use either the Comma-Separated Values (CSV) or QuickBooks Online (QBO) file format. Then, we'll have to import it to your account.

I have the same problem,

I've tried in an incognito window,it goes through its thing and then says connected,but my banking page still wont download the transactions. I've done the csv import but would like the automatic connection. Natwest worked fine for the re authentication.

Thank you for performing the troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue. And, for confirming that the Natwest bank worked fine for the re-authentication.
 
There are different account types in Natwest bank. And, one of them is currently not supported by Open banking.  Please see the screenshot below to see which account types are available for Open banking for Natwest.

If the account type of your bank is not yet supported, manually importing them is the best way to upload the latest transaction. Rest assured, we're working closely with banks and financial institutions to provide Open Banking connections for as many banking products as possible. And, open banking compliant bank feed so that your banks will become available in the future.
 
However, if the account type of your bank is already available for open banking, I suggest contacting our QuickBooks Support Team. They can pull up your account to investigate why the issue persists.
 
Here's how to contact them:
 
1. Open your QuickBooks Account.
2. At the top right, click the Help icon.
3. Click Contact Us.
4. Under What can we help you with?, enter your concern about the connection of your bank.
5. Click Let's Talk.
6. You'll be routed into the Choose a way to connect with us page.
 
  • Start a chat with a support expert.
  • Get a callback from the next available expert.
 
7. Select how you want to contact them and fill in the information.

Still the same problems - seems to be ok but when back to qbo no connection

Once your bank account is supported under the open banking regulations, you can connect your accounts and credit cards for a complete, real-time view of all your finances and cash flow. 

 

For the list of accounts available for an online connection with QuickBooks, you can check out this link. From there, look for your bank account. If it has an Available Now label under Actions, then you should be able to connect your bank with no errors.

 

If not, no worries, you can still import your bank transactions to QuickBooks manually. For the detailed instructions, you can follow the instructions from this article: Manually upload transactions into QuickBooks Online.

 

Once transactions are in QuickBooks, you can match and categorise to put them in the correct accounts.

HI

 

I am a new user and cannot link my Barclays account.  I get the error message "Bad Request your browser sent a message this server couldn't understand."   I think that there is a message at the top that mentions error 502.  Is this a Barclays message or a Quickbooks one?

Error 502 Bad Gateway is usually an issue with the browser itself. When you are encountering browser issues when visiting Intuit sites. There are a few basic troubleshooting steps you can perform. Before following the steps below, try using a different browser to identify if the issue is browser-specific.

General browser troubleshooting steps

  • Restart your browser.
  • Clear your browser's cache.
  • Add Intuit as a trusted site.
  • Enable Active Scripting (if using Internet Explorer):
    1. From the Tools menu, select Internet Options.
    2. Click the Security tab and select the Internet icon.
    3. Click Custom Level.
    4. Select Enable under Active Scripting.
    5. Click OK twice.
  • Reset the browser to its default settings.
    Note: This will change any customized settings that you have on your browser.
