Starling Bank and slow updates

Hi Guys,

I'm new to quickbooks Self employed and am just finding my feet.

I have linked my Starling Sole trader account to QB's which seems to be working, I can see various transactions. I received a payment for an invoice which came into my bank around 11am today, Starling correctly self categorised the payment as Revenue but this transaction is not showing up in Quickbooks and its now 9pm?

Am I missing something? The payment is the correct amount of the invoice and the invoice number matches too. I have also marked the invoice as payed.

I've tried several times to refresh the connection to the bank too but nothing changes?

Please Help lol

Starling Bank and slow updates

Hello, wiggy1977.

I'll share some details on why transactions are missing and the steps that you can follow to retrieve them. When latest transactions are not downloaded in your QuickBooks Self-Employed account, it could be caused by the following scenarios:

  • The bank's website is undergoing some maintenance updates.
  • Your bank requires you to update the information such as name (bank merger), account number, or login credentials.
  • Changes on the service offerings. Web Connect or Direct Connect.

Let's try to log in to your bank's website and check if there  no maintenance update. Then, make sure your bank information is updated. Once done, we can do the manual update again to refresh the connection.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear > Bank Accounts.
  2. Click the Refresh all button.

If the transaction is still missing in the Transactions page, you can reach out to our Customer Care Team by following the steps here: Contact QuickBooks Self-Employed Support. Otherwise, manually import the transaction. You can find the instructions in this article: Manually import transactions into QuickBooks Self-Employed.

Please feel free to leave a comment, if you have any follow-up questions or other concerns. Take care and stay safe.
