Transactions for review in wrong account

My linked Savings bank account is showing transactions for my Current account.  How can I stop this from happening?  I've had problems with the accounts since relinking a few months ago. I've now got the balances correct, but every time I try and relink I see these old transactions.

Transactions for review in wrong account

I know a couple of troubleshooting steps to help you with your bank transactions and get your work done in no time, drew873.

Before we start, may I ask if the Savings and Current bank account is set up as a parent and sub-account in QuickBooks? If so, make sure to connect the accounts to Online Banking based on how your bank sends downloaded transactions. If transactions download to one account, connect only the parent account. If they download to individual accounts, connect the subaccounts and not the parent account. For more details, you may open this article: Create subaccounts in your chart of accounts in QuickBooks Online.

However, if they're separate individual accounts, you can exclude those old transactions and manually upload the correct one. Please note that the system is dependent on the entries that are transmitted from your bank. To help verify why the account reflects different transactions, I suggest contacting your financial institution.

To exclude bank transactions in the For Review tab, follow the steps below:

  1. Click Banking in the left panel and choose Banking.
  2. In the For Review tab, select the imported transactions that are appearing twice.
  3. Tap on the Exclude button.
  4. If you want to delete the transactions, go to the Excluded tab and select the transactions.
  5. Hit the Delete button.

For detailed instructions, open this article: Exclude a bank transaction you downloaded into QuickBooks Online. Once done, you can manually upload transactions from your bank or credit card in QuickBooks Online. For more complete steps follow this link: Manually upload transactions into QuickBooks Online. It contains steps on how to get your transactions from your bank and upload them into QuickBooks.

I'd also recommend reconciling your bank account every month. This will help you detect errors and keep your it up to date. For the detailed steps, kindly check out this article: Reconcile an account in QuickBooks Online.
