Re: Trouble connecting to Santander business acount

Thanks for the screenshot, duffstar.

Error 187 occurs if you have answered a security question incorrectly in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

In this case, go back to your bank's website and verify your security question and answer. Then, enter the correct information to fix this error.

However, I recommend reaching out to our QuickBooks Support Team if you're frequently getting the error 530. This has been reported to our engineers and they are working on a permanent fix. When you do, provide this investigation number: 36255.

Here's how to reach them:

  1. Sign in to your QBO account.
  2. Go to Help (?) at the top right and select Contact Us.
  3. Enter your concern in the What can we help you with? field and click on Let's talk.
  4. Choose either Get a callback or Start Messaging.

From there, any updates on this will be communicated via email.

Leave a comment below if you have any follow-ups. I'm always glad to help. Have a good one.

Re: Trouble connecting to Santander business acount

Hi KAGB,

We currently have an investigation for the 530 error you are experiencing and we are in communication with the bank to resolve. At the moment, the issue appears intermittent and customers are able to connect the account after few attempts.

Please try connecting the account via an incognito/private browsing window and verify that you are selecting the link for Santander Business Banking (UK) when adding the account.

On the other hand, we'd recommend reaching out to our QuickBooks Customer Care Team to add your profile to the list of affected users and keep you up to date about the issue.

Let me know if you have other questions.

Re: Trouble connecting to Santander business acount

HI

Thanks - i have tried numerous times and am definitely trying to link the correct Santander account. I am unsure what you mean about private browsing window, but I have tried various search engines as well with the same result. I have reported to QB as per your suggestion and will let you know,

thanks for your help!

Re: Trouble connecting to Santander business acount

I am unable to connect my Santander Business Account (I am definitely linking to the Business Account) and am getting error code 530.

Please can you resolve this issue - there have been many messages about this and it is obviously an ongoing issue.

Please advise.

Many thanks

Re: Trouble connecting to Santander business acount

Hi Abiss,

We are aware of the 102 error customers are frequently experiencing when trying to connect to their Santander accounts. We are in communication with the bank to resolve the issue which appears to be due to partial IP blocking from the bank. Accounts are updating after repeat attempts so we'd appreciate if you can try to connect the account in an incognito/private browsing window while we work to resolve the issue.

Thanks

Re: Trouble connecting to Santander business acount

Thank you for your response.  I am receiving a 503 error message.

Also I have already tried using an incognito browser several times.

Please could you let me know how long it will take to resolve this issue?

Many thanks

Re: Trouble connecting to Santander business acount

Hey Abiss,

We currently have a raised investigation for the 530 error you are experiencing with the Santander feed and our engineers are looking into the issue. Currently this appears intermittent and accounts are updating after repeat attempts so please continue to update the connection while we work to resolve the error.

Thanks

Re: Trouble connecting to Santander business acount

I have been trying for 2 days now.  As I am paying a monthly subscription for the Quickbooks service which includes linking to my bank accounts in order for me to be able to complete my accounting requirements, how long do you think I should reasonably have to wait for this error to be fixed as I see from other comments it has been ongoing for several months now?

I need to get on and get my accounts done and this is extremely frustrating.  An intermittent service isn't really good enough.  If I paid my Quickbooks subscription intermittently would that be acceptable?

Re: Trouble connecting to Santander business acount

Hello Abiss,

We can understand the need to connect your bank to QuickBooks Online to have a fast and easy way to add your transactions, whilst this is currently something you have been able to connect you can still use the Bank Feed as designed. Without your bank being connected in the back end you can still manually import transactions from your bank using a CSV file, you can find a link for uploading transactions via CSV here.

Please let us know if there is anything else I can help with. :)

Re: Trouble connecting to Santander business acount

I have been trying to connect my Santander business account, I initially got the 102 error code, but after I logged into my santander account I got past this, but when I enter my security question answer it says that its not right with code 187 (screenshot attached). I have tried doing this in an incognito window and this then brings up the 530 error code. Any hints or tips would be appreciated!

Many Thanks

Re: Trouble connecting to Santander business acount

Thanks for the reply, but I'm 100% confident I have answered the security questions correctly despite the 187 error code, my dad's middle name and my mum's maiden name haven't changed in over 70,years! I will try again anyway and contact the support team if I still can't do it.

Thanks again!

Re: Trouble connecting to Santander business acount

I have just tried to download a CSI file from Santander but they do not have this as an option.  Their file extension choices are xls, qif, PDF or txt.

please advise

Re: Trouble connecting to Santander business acount

Hi there, @Abiss

Since the Santander Bank (UK) doesn't have the option to download your bank transactions as a CSI file, you can consider downloading it as a PDF file. Then, convert the PDF file to a CSV file. This way, you can import your bank transaction to your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account.

To convert your downloaded PDF file to CSV file, you can check our QuickBooks Online Apps page and search for a third-party app that can help you convert PDF file to CSV. You can also go to the Apps menu in your QBO account. Let me show you how.

In your QBO account:

  1. Go to the Apps menu.
  2. In the search tab, type in the name of the app.
  3. Click Get App Now.

Here's an article you can read for more details: Syncing your Apps with QuickBooks is Easy.

Re: Trouble connecting to Santander business acount

I have now managed to connect to Santander but it only automatically uploaded the current tax year transactions.  In order to get last years transactions I had to manually upload.  I have now done this but it has but all my debits as credits.  Please can you help me!  I have been on this since Wednesday and the amount of time this is wasting is totally ridiculous.

Re: Trouble connecting to Santander business acount

Thanks for keeping us updated with the results, Abiss.

Let's review the mapping by re-importing your bank transactions. This is to make sure data will be posted to the correct accounts.

Just so you need reference on how to manually upload bank transactions into QuickBooks Online (QBO), you can check out this article: Manually upload transactions into QuickBooks Online.

It's my goal to help you get pass through this. Let me know if you need more help. Have a wonderful day.
