Why is Quick Books no longer connecting to Tide

Thanks for joining the Community space, @jenny-knitknacks. Let me share some information about connecting the Tide account to QuickBooks.

I've replicated your concern and I was able to see the Tide account when I try to connect it with QuickBooks. To ensure that you're able to connect or see the bank, please note the possible scenarios:

  • Your bank has multiple names on our list. Make sure you have selected the correct listing or have tried all possible links. You can search by the banking login URL to ensure you are using the correct listing.
  • Your bank does not connect to all types of accounts (for example, personal accounts vs. business accounts).
  • Your bank is not a participating financial institution.

If you're unable to find your bank after confirming the required details above, I'd recommend trying other versions of your financial institution that are listed.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Banking menu at the left panel.
  2. Select Add account/Link account.
  3. Enter the name of your financial institution. When it appears, select it from the list.
  4. Continue to add the account to QuickBooks Online.

However, if you have confirmed the required details, and you still can't find your bank. You'll need to use the Request support your bank option and ask us to add your bank.

Let me walk you through the steps:

  1. Go to the Banking menu.
  2. Select Add account.
  3. Search for the name of your financial institution. If QuickBooks is unable to find your bank, you will get the message, "Hmm, we can’t find [name of the bank you entered] in our list of supported banks," and you will be presented with helpful tips to try and locate your bank account.
  4. If you’re still unable to find your bank, select Request support for your bank.
  5. Enter your bank's web address (URL) in the field provided, then select Request.

In the meantime, you can manually upload the bank transactions into QuickBooks Online. You can click on this article on how to perform the steps: Manually upload transactions into QuickBooks Online. After that, transactions will add to your Online banking.

Please refer to this article to view steps on how you can review downloaded bank and credit card transactions by matching or adding them to avoid duplicate entries: Categorise and match online bank transactions in QuickBooks Online.
