Yorkshire Bank - Unable to Connect

Hi,

I have seen a number of other threads, all which seem to end without a final response. I have a business bank account with Yorkshire Bank.

The link to login is https://cybg.ybonline.co.uk/cyb/online-banking/bapp/homepage?customer_type=business

The two possible logins you have on your website are http://www.ybonline.co.uk/ and/or http://www.cybusinessonline.co.uk/

Neither of the above work.  The latter seems better as it asks for User ID (which is what the actual login asks for), however both return error 103.

Re: Yorkshire Bank - Unable to Connect

Hi,

Unfortunately after a few weeks of discussions with support, it looks as though you do not support Yorkshire Business Bank Accounts.

Their accounts require authentication by the mobile app. When attempting to use the Cylesdale and Yorkshire option, it errors straight with 103. The mobile app does not signal that authentication is required. The other option available in the list is Yorkshire, but this does not enable you to enter a User ID.

I hope others see this that may end up in the same situation.

Re: Yorkshire Bank - Unable to Connect

Good day, @nlangton,

You're on the right track, connecting your account. There's just a few possible reasons why you’re prompted with Error 103 in QuickBooks Online. Here are some:

  • Your bank recently made some changes with their security feature or connection.
  • Your financial institution's credentials set up in QBO is incorrect.

To rectify this, let's try refreshing your bank connection in QuickBooks. Follow the steps below if you recently made any changes to your bank login:

  1. Go to the Banking menu.
  2. Find the account that generated Error 103.
  3. Click on the pencil icon.
  4. Hit the Edit sign-in info.
  5. Input your log in credentials, then click Update.

For first time connection, refresh it by performing the steps below:

  1. Click the Banking menu.
  2. Tap on the Add Account button.
  3. Locate your bank and click to select it.
  4. Copy the URL listed in the window.
  5. Sign in using your bank login credentials.
  6. Update all necessary information.

However, if you keep getting the same problem, I highly recommend contacting our QuickBooks Online Care Team. They can check if there are similar reports from other users and help open an investigation on this unexpected behavior. Here's how you can get our contact information:

  1. Click the (?) Help menu at the top right section of your QBO Dashboard.
  2. Tap the Contact us button.

Please update me on how the call goes. I'll be on a lookout for your reply as I want to make sure you're all set. Have a nice day!

Re: Yorkshire Bank - Unable to Connect

Hi nlangton,

Could I please get you to try using a PC and when selecting your bank pasting in the address where you normally sign in for your online banking, this should then bring in the active link for your online banking connection.

Re: Yorkshire Bank - Unable to Connect

Hi Edward. No that doesn't work. The link when active in internet banking shows unavailable when pasting into Quickbooks.

The link when logged in is https://cybg.ybonline.co.uk/cyb/online-banking/bapp/authentication?applyFor=IM135

Re: Yorkshire Bank - Unable to Connect

Thanks for getting back to us, @nlangton.

Since you couldn't find your bank using the URL, this means that QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) doesn't support your bank. As an alternative, you can consider exporting and importing your bank transactions using a CSV file. Let me guide you how.

First off, you'll need to export data from your bank. Here's how:

  1. Sign in to your bank's website.
  2. Select the account with the data you want to export.
  3. Look for a button, link, or other info that describes downloading or exporting your data.
  4. Set the date range you want, and be sure to specify CSV as the file format.
  5. Follow the instructions to finish exporting your data.

Once done, you can now import your bank transactions into QBSE.

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Self-Employed account.
  2. Click the Gear icon.
  3. Select Imports.
  4. Choose the account you want to import.
  5. Follow the onscreen instruction to finish importing.

Here's an article you can read for more details: Import Transactions From Earlier Date Ranges.

You can also submit a request to add your bank in the future. Here's how:

  1. Click the Gear icon.
  2. Select Bank accounts.
  3. Paste the bank URL in the search box.
  4. Click Request support for your bank.
  5. Enter the Bank name and URL. (Make sure they're correct)
  6. Click Request.

You can check out this article for your reference: Problems Finding a Bank.

Please know that QuickBooks will add support for new banks based on the number of customer request and approvals from the bank.

You might also want to read this article to know more about categorizing transactions: Categorising & Editing Transactions in the Mobile App.

Re: Yorkshire Bank - Unable to Connect

Hi Mark,

Thanks for the information, I already knew about the downloading of transactions. However Quickbooks advertise quite significantly that they can connect to many banks which is part of the paid package. Unfortunately I cannot justify paying for a system that doesn't support my bank. Reading many other posts dating back over 12+ months with the same issue it doesn't look like you see it as anywhere near a priority item.

Re: Yorkshire Bank - Unable to Connect

Just bought into Quickbooks Self-Employed and experienced the same issue. Disappointed that there seems to be no resolution strategy at Quickbooks, as the the issue goes back a long way.

Re: Yorkshire Bank - Unable to Connect

Hello,

We are unable to resolve the issue with Yorkshire connections at the moment. The feed will be brought back once Open Banking is implemented as this is a direct connection with your bank. In the mean time, the only workaround is that mentioned of the .csv upload. We apologise for any inconvenience that this causes, our engineers are still looking into this for any further options, however that is the update directly from them for now.

Thanks,

Talia
