Let's refresh your bank account to renew its connection, jorisbeijn-hotma.

 

Let me guide you how:

 

  1. Click the Gear icon.
  2. Under Transactions, select Bank accounts.
  3. Click the Refresh all button.

Allow me to step in and help you with authorising and renewing your bank connection with QuickBooks Self-Employed, jorisbeijn-hotma.

 

We’re upgrading our bank feeds to comply with the new Open Banking regulations. This is to ensure accurate, reliable, and uninterrupted bank feeds.

 

Here's an article to guide with re-authorising your bank connection: How to re-authorise your bank connection.

Once your account is disconnected, you can follow the steps below to reconnect it:

  1. Go to the Settings ⚙ icon and select Bank accounts.

  2. Click + Connect another account.

  3. In the search box, enter the name of the bank and account type, i.e Lloyds Bank BusinessLloyds Bank Personal, or Lloyds Bank Commercial.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to connect your account.

 

Once reconnected, you'll have to review and organise your income and expense transactions. This way, you're able to put them on the correct line of your tax form. You can refer to this article for the detailed steps: Categorise transactions in QuickBooks Self-Employed. It also contains instructions about editing or recategorising a transaction.

 

Alternatively, you'll want to upload your bank transactions manually. You can check this write-up for a guide: Manually import transactions into QuickBooks Self-Employed.

 

Additionally, can I ask for the specific bank you're trying to authorise in QuickBooks? I want to make sure I've got you covered. Sorry I think we are completely missing the point here. 

Every 90 days you need to re-authorise for QB to pull info from your bank account.

So I have now a notification in my transactions page to do so. When I follow the link I come to the account page where I can refresh it but not authorise.

I would suggest reaching out to our Customer Care Support Team to have this better investigated. They can pull up your account in a private 1-on-1 setting and determine the reason why you're unable to authorize your bank account within QuickBooks. To reach out to them, follow these steps:

 

  1. Select Assistant from the top menu.
  2. Enter or say “Talk to a human.”
  3. Choose a way to connect with us:
    Start a chat with a support expert.
    Get a callback from the next available expert.

Exact same thing here.

 

The main transactions page tells me I need to renew my connection with the bank, and provides a link, which simply takes me to my account page with an option to refresh.

 

No option to 'Renew' anything.

 

All of the threads I've read just have someone from QB saying" Go to your bank accounts page and refresh".

 

Um... that does nothing except refresh the account transactions  - it doesn't 'renew the connection' at all.

And so the warning that I *must* do this persists, even though there's absolutely no way to actually do it.

Here are the shortcut keys you can provide for easy access:

 

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Safari 11 or newer: ⌘ + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + P

 

If it works, please go back to your regular browser and clear its cache so the system can start fresh and improve its browsing experience. Otherwise, use another supported browser as an alternative.

 

However, if there's no progress, I suggest contacting our Customer Care Support to have this better checked. They have advanced tools to investigate the root cause of the problem.

I have had this problem for weeks and they have now told me its been resolved and my case is no longer open. When in fact it is still exactly the same.!!!!

We'd like to sort out this issue as soon as possible, so I'll point the way to help you fix the authorise and renew connection issue. 

 

I take it that you've already done the needed steps when you've called, and the suggested solutions above. 

 

Since the issue is recurring, you'll want to follow-up on the issue with our support. They'll check on your existing case and re-open it for investigation. You can provide the case number if you have it handy. 

 

You can use the same method when you've reached out to us. In case you need help, you can follow these steps: 

 

  1. Click the Assistant button on the top-right corner of the page.
  2. On the chat box, type "Contact support."
  3. When asked, type "follow up on my bank connection case" or something similar. 
  4. Proceed with I still need a human.
  5. Choose how you would like to connect with us. 

 

If you need to take care of those bank transactions as soon as possible, you can do the manual import as an option (until our support fixes the issue). This article will guide you through the process: Manually import transactions into QuickBooks Self-Employed.

 

Import only those transactions that aren't added to your account yet. You might have to format your spreadsheet in this case.  

 

If there are duplicates, simply check the transactions then click the Delete button.
