Hello @userinfo14,
You can consider adding your cleaners as subcontractors and track the expenses you have made for them with CIS deductions. But I'd still recommend contacting your accountant for assistance in setting up and tracking your expenses for the said cleaners.
That being said, you can add them as subcontractors for CIS tracking since cleaners are listed as one of the construction operation schemes. Let me show you how:
- Go to Expenses.
- Select Suppliers.
- Click New supplier.
- Fill in the name of your cleaner as the supplier information.
- Select is CIS subcontractor.
- Enter the corresponding CIS including the rate.
- Click Save.
Once done, you can start creating bills and bill payment or expenses and the system will automatically calculate the CIS deduction for you.
In addition, here's an article you can read to learn more about all the details you need with CIS deductions in QuickBooks: CIS in QuickBooks Online.
Lastly, I've also included this helpful article for the steps in preparing your CIS return and paying it from the HMRC: Filing CIS in QuickBooks Online.
If there's anything else that I can help you with, please let me know in the comments. I'll be here to lend a hand. Stay safe!
