Yes, you can always roll back a payroll to fix the employee data, limalex.ltd.

Before we do that, here are a few reminders:

  • You can't edit just one employee payment. You have to roll back the entire payroll and recreate the payments.
  • Rolling back a payroll rolls back any changes you made to auto enrollment. If you recreate the payroll, you have to make those changes again.
  • If you notified HRMC of a leaver in a payroll you roll back, the leaver date will remain the same.

Once you're ready, you can follow the detailed steps in this article: Roll back a payroll in PaySuite.

You can use this link to know more about PaySuite: PaySuite Hub.

Feel free to let us know if you have additional questions in mind.

Thanks for coming back, limalex.ltd.

You can delete or rollback your payroll in the system if you messed up from the beginning. However, if you already submitted your incorrect payroll data to the HMRC then you may need to re-submit a new report  (FPS or RTI).  When submitting the report, just select For correction option.

If you're using QuickBooks Online Payroll (QBOP), you can delete the payroll and recreate them. This way, you can redo the FPS when submitting it to HMRC.

Then, let's make sure to print out all the payslips and payroll reports since the deletion process is permanent. Just follow the steps in this article on how to delete the payroll: Deleting a pay run in QuickBooks Online Standard Payroll. Once done, just recreate the payroll and resubmit the FPS to HMRC

If you're using PaySuit, please refer to this article to rollback or undo the payroll: Roll back a payroll in PaySuite
