How do i pay an employee SSP. i have filled out the relevant details in the actions but it isnt working

Let me provide some insights about paying Statutory Sick Pay (SSP) to your employee and help you from there, Michelle66.

You'll have to form a Period of incapacity for work (PIW) for you to be able to pay SSP to your employee. This is a period of sickness lasting 4 or more consecutive days, this includes non-working days, bank holidays, and weekends.

To properly pay SSP for your employee, please follow the detailed steps below:

  1. Go to your Open pay run, then select the appropriate employee you want to pay.
  2. Click on ActionsPay Statutory Leave.
  3. Select Statutory Sick Pay from the drop-down list.
  4. From the SSP screen, the ‘from’ and ‘to’ dates default to the date range of your open pay run.
  5. Select the start and end date your employee was off sick.
  6. Tick the qualifying days your employee works, then click Calculate.
  7. Once the SSP has been calculated, click View Log to see the calculations.
  8. Review the relevant period, which is the previous 8 weeks before the sickness
  9. Click Apply to make the payment in the pay run.

I'm adding this article for more guidance: Statutory Sick Pay (SSP) in QuickBooks Online Advanced Payroll.

If it still not working, as an initial step, you can press the F5 key on your keyboard to refresh the page. If you're still getting the same result, we can do some of the basic troubleshooting steps. You can use these shortcut keys depending on the browser you're using:

  • Google Chrome: press Ctrl Shift N
  • Mozilla Firefox: press Ctrl Shift P
  • Safari: press Command Shift N

Once signed in pay your employee from there and if it works. If it rectifies the issue, go back to your main browser and clear its cache to remove the portal's history. You may also try accessing your account using another supported browser.

As always, feel free to visit our QuickBooks Community help website if you need tips and related articles in the future.

Keep in touch if you need any more assistance with this, or there's something else I can do for you. I've got your back. Have a good day and keep safe.

Hope you're doing great. I wanted to see how everything is going about the SSP you had yesterday. Was it resolved? Do you need any additional help or clarification? If you do, just let me know. I'd be happy to help you at anytime.

Looking forward to your reply. Have a pleasant day ahead
