How to remove and employee and make sure HRMC are informed

I have 2 employees on Quickbooks payroll.  I want to take them both off with immediate effect before the next payroll run and then I want to close the payroll function altogether. They are already fully paid up and are owed nothing.  

I can see I can mark them as leavers and put their leave date in (31/3/22) but then, how do I inform HMRC because I think I need to give them a Final Payment Submission (or something?)

Any help greatly appreciated!

Hello Roger_LC, thanks for coming back to us and letting us know which payroll you are using. So what you need to do is mark them as leaver, send the FPS off, if you are discontinuing the PAYE scheme, then you will also need to submit a final EPS via basic tools on HMRCS website.

In order to help you with your question can we ask which payroll it is you are using within your QuickBooks account, is it our standard payroll or our advanced payroll?
