I wanted to close paye scheme. How do I let HMRC directly from QuickBooks?

Happy to have you here today. I'll walk you through the process to close your paye scheme in QuickBooks Online.

 

Before anything else, may I know the payroll product you're using? If you're using QuickBooks Online Advanced payroll, you can cease the scheme by performing the steps below:

 

  1. Access your QuickBooks Online company.
  2. Go to Business overview, and then choose Reports.
  3. In Payroll HMRC Reports, and then select Employer Payment Summary (EPS).
  4. Click Submit EPS.
  5. Tick Final EPS for the tax year.
  6. Tick This is the final EPS because the PAYE scheme has ceased.
  7. Choose the date the scheme ceased on.
  8. Press the Submit EPS button.

 

If you're using Standard payroll, know the option to cease the scheme is unavailable. You would want to stop running it after you've marked all the employees as leavers and submitted the RTI.
