Is anyone having problem processing payroll FPS to HMRC through quickbooks online since April 2020?

Hi there, trihnos.

 

I've tried to check our records here and found out that there are two open investigations where customers are unable to submit FPS. I would like to ask a few things in regards to your concern. This way, I can provide you the correct information about your question. 
 

Can you tell if you're unable to enter AO, and PAYE HMRC reference number or the FPS will not submit for tax period? If one of the options occurs during the process, our engineers are currently working to fix this issue. I would recommend giving our specialist a short call so they can add you as one of the affected users. Then, you'll receive an email notification as soon as the issue is resolved.
 

Here's how to contact them:

 

  1. Go to the Help menu and click Contact us.
  2. Let them know in the description box that you're encountering the same issue stated above.
  3. Click Let's talk, then select between Start messaging or Get a callback.

 

On the other hand, if the problem is different from the options I've provided in the second paragraph, we can then troubleshoot to sort it out. Below are the things that you can try on:

 

  1. Refresh your browser by clicking the Reload icon or pressing F5 on your keyboard.
  2. If the same thing happens, log in to your account through an incognito window. This mode doesn't store cache that's why we recommend using it.
  3. Once logged in, let's try to pocess payroll FPS to HMRC one more time. If it works fine, go back to your main browser and clear the cache. This helps remove any browser-related issues and refresh your browser's settings.
  4. Another option is to use the supported browsers in QBO.

Yes I am too since 22/5, up until then submitting payroll FPS was fine.

Have had 2 chats with QB, first call was told it was HMRC website and to keep trying, second call was told my issue was going to be escalated and they would be in touch, have I had a reply from them since... Nope!

Are people still having issues synching FPS with HMRC?

 

I'm running payroll for the first time (not complicated, there are only 3 of us!). However, when I attempt to send the FPS report to HMRC, I keep being told that it's been rejected. Is anyone else having this issue...?

Can you click on the rejection and detailed error will show to by its being rejected for.

 

Could you also check the credentials are correct, the PAYE ref, and the accounts office number as well?

Thanks for you message.

 

The error message was "Authentication Failure. The supplied user credentials failed validation for the requested service".

 

I've gone into account settings and double checked the Employer PAYE and Accounting Office Refs - both of which were correct. It's possible that the Govt Gateway password I submitted in the original setup wasn't correct as I have tried to resubmit and now see that it's 'Pending', so hopefully that will now go through. Fingers crossed...

Yes, it sounds like it was your credentials that where entered in where wrong that's why you were getting the rejection.

Sounds like it will be going through for you know, that you have changed the credentials to the correct ones.

Unfortunately, the problem continues to persist and the submission has been rejected with the following error:

Authentication Failure. The supplied user credentials failed validation for the requested service.

 

I have repeatedly checked all the information and it is correct. Is it possible that I need validation info from HMRC in order to complete setup for employer PAYE...?

Yes I would double-check with HMRC as well. 

 

You can send us a screenshot of this rejection so we can have a visual of it to see what else could be going on as well.

Thanks for the screenshot, so having looked into it keeps on getting rejected because the credentials you have entered must be wrong that's why it keeps getting rejected. 

 

Can you re-enter the user ID and password make sure you don't copy or paste it in can you type it in and make sure they are correct and then resubmit it.

Hello Angleamm, Is your small employer relief turned on or off? We have to just check as well that you are able to sign in to HMRC with the same credentials and that your PAYE ref and accounts office ref show correctly.

I'll point you in the right direction for support with your query.

 

As mentioned by my colleague @SarahannC above, we have an open investigation for this specific issue you stated. I suggest you contact our Technical Support team for assistance. They can add you to the list of our affected users. And with that, you'll receive a notification email whenever an update becomes available. You can keep this investigation number as reference: INV-49858

 

In case you missed it, follow these steps:

 

  1. Log in to your QuickBooks Online (QBO) company.
  2. Click the Help menu.
  3. Select Contact us.

Once that's taken care of, see this article: View submitted FPS and EPS filings in QuickBooks Online Standard Payroll. It has the steps on how you can take a look at your previously submitted FPS and EPS filings. It also has a list of common questions about this process with their answers.
