Hi, I have QBO Advanced Payroll set so that a maximum of 0 hours annual leave can carry over, but last year's balances have appeared in the leave balances for all employees (our leave year runs from 1st January). How can I reset leave balances to zero for the start of the year? thanks
These are my settings for Annual leave and the settings for an individual employee on their template, both state no leave carried over but as the 3rd image shows there are hours carried over from last year - I'm not sure ho to stop this and reset to zero from 1st Jan?
Sorry this report run shows better that the opening balance of 1.244 hours is added to the closing balance so far this year rather than zero opening balance. They're only small amounts but it gives an incorrect accrual figure.
Thanks for that Alks, It looks like those settings were probably added after the leave was accrued in total, since it doesn't correct previously added balances.You can create a leave adjustment to correct those balances and they should then be fine moving forward. You can do that for each employee on the pay run as a leave adjustment we have included a link on how to do that here
Ok thanks - they are the settings I've had since April 2020 (I've updated the start date to 1st Jan 2021 today to see if it would make any difference but it hasn't).
I will manually adjust and hope it doesn't happen next year!
