Migration to Core Payroll - Enter Contracted hours for director

Hi, Please can anyone advise - we've been transferred over to the core payroll this month. we are a two director company with no other employees and just pay ourselves the usual minimum director level. It is saying that we now have to enter contracted hours. What should I enter here as we are directors? It seems to have automatically populated it as 0.04 hours and it says it is needed for the FPS.

Migration to Core Payroll - Enter Contracted hours for director

Thank you for keeping QuickBooks as your payroll partner, @EDTC. I'll share with you a solution addressing the hours shown when entering contracted hours for the director's company in QuickBooks Payroll Core.

Contracted hours are the amount of time you agree to work as stipulated in the employment contract. Hence, whatever times you're required as agreed within the company should be entered in the designated section. You mentioned that there's an auto-populated hour of 0.04. Thus, we can change it to the total hours you're contracted to work.

However, if you're referring to the hours shown upon running payroll, we can check your tax information to where we can set the director calculation method.

Also, consider checking your pay type setup as hours populated depend on the employee's setup in the contracted hours and the rate per hour depending on the chosen pay type. To check how you are being set up as an employee and as a company director at the same time, you can check out this article: Managing company directors in QuickBooks Online Core Payroll.

If there's a need to edit your employee information to match the expected working hours on a specified date, you can update this by scanning the complete guidelines in this article: Edit or change employee info in QuickBooks Online Core Payroll.
