Payroll Previous years EPS for CIS not recorded

I have contacted HMRC today to see why i have not received a refund for the cis suffered in 21-22 tax year, but they are saying there was no record of any deductions. I thought these were automatically sent to HMRC through the FPS report.

HMRC said i need to do an end of year eps report for last tax year with the amount of CIS suffered so it can be refunded to us.

How do i do this on standard quickbooks as i cant find any options to go back, other than rolling back all payroll details since April last year and rerunning them all again which would be a mammoth job! Is it even possible to do?

Thank you in advance

Payroll Previous years EPS for CIS not recorded

Let me share some information about recording previous year's EPS for CIS, @mrs reno.

If you're using a Standard Payroll, we can record your deductions suffered under CIS and submit the figures to HMRC. Before doing so, make sure to switch on the CIS feature in QuickBooks.

Here's how:

  1. Proceed to Payroll, choose Overview (Take me there).
  2. In your shortcuts, click Settings.
  3. Enter the amount of CIS deductions this tax year.
  4. You can select Fetch CIS suffered, and we'll collect the amount recorded in Quickbooks.
  5. Select the Date for deduction.
  6. The calculation can be set if you wish you record CIS suffered deductions for a different tax period.
  7. Choose Save record. This will create the CIS suffered in your next EPS and will be ready to send.

For more insights, please see this article: Record Deductions Suffered under CIS in QuickBooks Online Standard Payroll. It also include steps on how to update and see previous CIS records.
