I have tried to postpone two employees' enrolment into the workplace pension by one month. One employee was fine. The other prompted an error message that stated:
The assessment failed as its not possible to do back to back postponements
His net pay is now showing up as zero. Would anyone know why this is or what I am doing wrong (apologies if it is obvious - I am new to QBO)
Many thanks
Hayley
Hello there, @hayley-collins-t. I'm here to guide you past the error message so you can postpone your employee's enrollment.
Since the other employee was fine, you'll have to double-check the employee setting and exclude them from Auto Enrolment. This will help you past the error message and run payroll successfully.
To do so, the following step shown below will guide you:
You can refer to this article to learn more about the process provided above: Opt an employee out of a pension scheme in QuickBooks Online Standard Payroll. In case you use QuickBooks Online Advanced Payroll, follow the steps in this article: Postponing a pensions scheme in QuickBooks Online Advanced Payroll.
If the issue persists, I'd suggest performing some troubleshooting steps. You can access your account through a private window. This mode doesn't store a cache where we can identify if this has something to do with a browser issue.
To open a private window, you can utilize these keyboard shortcuts for reference:
If it works, I’d suggest deleting your regular browser's cache. This will delete all the saved data files from your browser and start with a clean slate. I also recommend using other supported browsers as an alternative.
Let me also add these articles as a reference on other ways to manage your pensions in QuickBooks:
