Let me lend a hand with your payroll concern in QuickBooks Online.
If you're referring to changing the employee's pay schedule, you can update it through their profile. Let's go to the Pay section, then scroll down to number 2.
Here's how:
To change the paycheck date, you can also visit the Change or edit paycheck date article for detailed instructions.
Additionally, I recommend the following resource, which contains some information about the payroll schedules, as well as customizing an employee:

Hi,
The screenshots you have sent do not match what I am using. I am using quickbooks standard payroll.
This is what comes up when I try to change it....
Once you run payroll for an employee, you won’t be able to edit, change or delete their pay schedule."
I need to change the dates or the payslips will not match. Please tell me how to do this. Constant problems since changing from QB desktop / Payroll, to QB Online. I had hoped it would make things easier but its just constant problem after problem.
Thanks for sharing additional clarifications about your concern, Sammi D.
Allow me to jump in and provide information with your query about changing pay schedules.
Looks like the payroll has already been processed or submitted reason why you get the prompt message. In QuickBooks Online (QBO) Standard Payroll, you're only allowed to edit the pay schedule if you have not yet submitted your first payroll. If you do, you'll want to deleted your first submitted payroll.
Before you decide to delete the pay run, please take note of the following:
Here's how to delete them:

Hi, cant delete the payrolls previous as they are all correct, the change needs to be effective as of this week, so needs to be changed before the next payroll date on Wednesday.
Please advise ASAP!
Hiya Sammy D, With the Standard payroll once a payment schedule has been set you're unable to amend this once payroll has been ran, the only way to change the pay schedule would be to roll back the payroll. Is the reason to change the schedule because it was set up incorrectly in the first place or have you changed the schedule?
We have changed the schedule due to the new way of working!
So i cannot roll back all the other payroll entries as they are all correct.
Please advise how i have change this going forward as i dont want the payslips to be incorrect for the next 40/50 years!
Hi Sammy, Yeah you won't be able to roll back as then if the pay schedules were correct. Within the Standard payroll, you're unable to change pay schedules once it has been ran without rolling back but in your case, you're unable too. If you're wanting to change schedules you will need to move to the Advanced payroll to do so as the standard will not allow you to set up a new pay scedule and move employees between them.
whats the difference between the two? what is the price difference? QB online has been a constant headache since being forced to transfer over to it. They should tell you all these things before setting everything up.
Hi Sammi D, our guide here shows the full Product Feature Comparison for Payroll UK.
The Advanced payroll has a subscription fee of £8 p/m (+ VAT) plus £1 per paid employee/month, the standard payroll has a subscription fee of £4 p/m (+ VAT) plus £1 per paid employee/month.
Please get back to us below if you have any questions on this :smiling_face_with_smiling_eyes:
and what problems will that cause to update to advanced? will i lose everything again???
Hello Sammi D,
If you were to move from standard to advanced payroll, you would need to get all the data out of the standard one first so you can then put it into the advanced payroll once the switch has happened. When the migration happens it doesn't bring any date over for you so it would be a case of having to set up and run the payroll again. All the migration does it turns off standard and turns advanced on for you.
