I am trying to terminate an employee on the QuickBooks advanced online payroll and make the person redundant. I cannot seem to find the right area on how to do this

It's now only possible to terminate an employee within the pay run itself on the Advanced payroll by selecting Actions > Terminate employee, have you terminated within the pay run and then finalised this?

Let me guide you through that, DP200749.

 

There are two ways you can terminate an employee:

  • Within the employee details
  • Within a pay run

Here's how to terminate an employee on the Employee Details:

  1. Open up the employee details.
  2. Select the Details section then Terminate Employee.
  3. Enter their Termination Date. This marks the employee as inactive, and they will no longer be eligible for pay runs.

Via the pay run:

  1. Select the employee within the pay run.
  2. Under Actions, select Terminate Employee.
  3. Enter the Termination Date and then Save.

Make sure to finalize the payroll before terminating the employee. You'll be unable to run another one once they're marked as terminated.

Hi i have tried doing it through payroll and completed the steps as mentioned but the employee has not been terminated.

i have tried,

  1. Open up the employee details.
  2. Select the Details section then Terminate Employee.
  3. Enter their Termination Date. This marks the employee as inactive, and they will no longer be eligible for pay runs.

but when i get to step 2 there is no section terminate employee
