Self Assessment 25/26 Community Drop In - Get Your Questions Answered

Question:  I usually make my accounts from 1st April to 31st March per year.  The self assessment is not picking up transactions for 1st April 2025 to 5th April 2025, and is picking up transactions for 1st April 2026 to 5th April 2026.  How can I adjust the dates for the self assessment without editing each line transaction?

The Self Assessment tab follows HMRC's start date of 6 April. That’s why it skips the first five days of transactions. Since you run your business from 1 April, we need to use a different view to see your full year.

The other way to see your full year without touching a single transaction is to head over to Reports > Profit and Loss > Report period > Custom dates > (Enter 01/04/2025 to 31/03/2026).
