Up to July I could run payroll with no employees and then submit an EPS. Since an update I can no longer run payroll with 0 employees. How do you submit an EPS file now?

Up to July I could run payroll with no employees and then submit an EPS. Since an update I can no longer run payroll with 0 employees. How do you submit an EPS file now?

Welcome to the Community space, Roland. I'll make sure you can easily file your EPS in QuickBooks Online Payroll. I'll guide you through the process to ensure everything goes smoothly.

 

If you were previously using the Standard Payroll subscription, you could run payroll without including employees on paychecks. However, with the recent update, Standard Payroll has been transitioned to Payroll Core. In QuickBooks Online Payroll Core, you'll need at least one active employee with a corresponding net pay in order to procced the EPS filing in QuickBooks Online Payroll.

 

Since you are required to submit  EPS, kindly reach out to us so we can assist you with entering your employee paychecks that have a zero net pay. Our team is here to guide you through the process and ensure that everything is accurately recorded. Please contact us at your earliest convenience:

 

Here's how:

 

  1. Go to Help.
  2. Select the Search tab, then choose Contact Us.
  3. Type in your issue or concern in the field.
  4. Hit Continue.
  5. Click the Chat or Callback option.
