Why did payroll not create journal entries for employee pay when I ran payroll?

Why did payroll not create journal entries for employee pay when I ran payroll?

I also have this same problem. When I ran the payroll in Mar and Apr the journals were posted ok, but in May the payroll page says the payroll is complete, but the journals have not been posted.

The FPS has been submitted and the payslips created, but no journals. I can't see anything different to the previous times. Is this a bug?

Why did payroll not create journal entries for employee pay when I ran payroll?

We've been alerted about this issue, support48 and accounts302,

Our Product Team is currently investigating why payroll journals are not posting for May 2020 despite having posted previous months.

A ticket is created to monitor all affected users. I highly recommend contacting our QuickBooks Online Payroll Team so they can add your account to the investigation (INV-46513). This way, you'll receive updates regarding the issue via email.

Here's how to get in touch with them:

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online company.
  2. Select Help (?) at the top right.
  3. Select Contact Us to connect with a live support agent.

I appreciate your patience and understanding while we look into this. Thank you and stay safe!

Why did payroll not create journal entries for employee pay when I ran payroll?

I have the same problem I think (see attached snapshot). I run a weekly payroll and last week was OK, so this has happened in the last 7 days.

The Pay Run has been finalised successfully although there was an error while publishing journals.

Journals were unable to be published because one (or more) of the accounts in your chart of accounts is an accounts payable account...

I do appreciate for letting us know, TeeBeeHBT.

Our engineers are still closely looking into the error you're prompted when submitting payroll. Our engineers suggested that if the journal/payslip has not been posted, you can log out and back in to QuickBooks to refresh and the journal/payslip to be put back in the queue for processing.

Then, we can review your Chart of Accounts to import accounts you need to import new ones. Once completed, you can return to the Pay Run and click the Export to QuickBooks again.

Let me show you how to import:

  1. Go to the left menu and click Accounting
  2. Select Chart of Accounts
  3. At the upper-right, click the New drop-down.
  4. Click Import

I'd also recommend getting in touch with us if the same thing happens so you'll receive updates from us via email. You can follow the steps provided by my colleague on how to contact us.

We'll surely get in touch with you once fix is available. You take care and keep safe always!
