I manage 2 Intuit Accounts, one for my business and another for a charity.
After the switchover to Open Banking, my feed from RBS is only showing one account. I am unable to get the 2nd RBS account to link into Quickbooks.
This is really frustrating. Any assistance or similar issues faced out here.
Today, I am requested to upgrade to Open Banking for my Business Account. My Quickbook feed are coming from my Savings Account, my Current account and my Credit Card Account.
Anyone with this same issue? Would appreciate assistance.
I had been struggling with the same problem for hours before reading in the HSBC "Managing Bank Feeds" user guide which clearly states page 18 chapter 7.2 :-
"Currently, HSBC supports bank feed connections for current, savings and foreign currency accounts."
No mention of credit card accounts.
Obviously still under development !
I just like to know how long we are likely to have to wait, will have to ask HSBC.
Hope this helps someone....
I've got this too - a current account and a savings account, and I can only get the current account connected. The savings account doesn't appear in the list of accounts as an option to select.
Sadly, it looks like only current accounts are available right now:
"Initially, only current account data can be requested" - from https://www.business.hsbc.uk/en-gb/open-banking under the What data is shared? question.
Looks like we'll be waiting a while....
If the account is not showing then it means it is not yet on the new open banking, it is just a case of waiting until the connection becomes available and just csv the transactions into your that account until there is a current connection for it.
Okay I am fine with that in principal. However, If the individual Bank account does not show when you attempt to link accounts. Is there any way to set up 6 individual bank accounts on the QuickBooks Banking page without being connected to the bank? I have attempted by connecting them all to the single HSBC current account that shows, all the individual transactions come through from the Bank with the bank feed but are distributed to multiple QuickBook credit-card and bank accounts. I can manage this at the moment by just excluding the incorrectly allocated ones.
If you go to the chart of accounts and add the bank account name and save then go to the banking page upload the CSV of your bank transactions saved from the bank then choose that chart of account you can then still use the banking page without any live connections until there is one for that account.
im having the same problem - only connecting my main account - not my second account - HSBC have said however, that both are now open and should be able top be picked up - yet on QuickBooks it doesn't show it me when im accessing bank feed - any ideas?
Have just noticed the same.
Client banks with RBS, but when you go to renew the bank feeds, the only options available are for 'Personal Account' or 'Bankline', and my client's account is RBS Business 'Digital Banking'.
I would have thought that there were loads of companies using this type of account who now have to go through the manual hassle of uploading csv data instead of the bank feeds, which is promoted as the number 1 reason to use QB!
To anyone reading this post:
When connecting HSBC accounts other than just your current business account,
do not be tempted to click on the HSBC logo for current account
Choose HSBC Bank (UK) - Business Banking - Other Accounts.
Thank you for the information.
Even though all my interfaces work previously, I decided to try it out by disconnecting them. After that, I added the Connection again and link all 3 (Deposit, Current and Credit Card) back to my QuickBook Account and it all reconnected back okay.
I need to try this out on the RBS bank interface as there might be a separate "Other Accounts" option that will work for the other set of QuickBooks I handle.
(*** Just checked but RBS option is still not there for Deposit Account ***)
Hello James Warne,
We advise using Quickbooks in google chrome then edge as we don't support it anymore.
Can you log into Quickbooks in an incognito window on chrome and try the bank in there for us and let us know how you get on.
To advise individuals following this post; I have just completed the test as requested.
1) Disconnected all 6 HSBC Bank accounts from QuickBooks.
2) Signed off from QuickBooks and closed browser
3) Started QuickBooks in Google Chrome session in “New incognito window”
4) Selected “HSBC Bank (UK) - Business Banking – Other Accounts” despite one of the accounts
being our current account (this is misleading).
5) Attached each of the 6 HSBC accounts to its appropriate QuickBooks account.
6) Selected todays transactions only
All seems to update and show correct balances – Thank you
hi - ive done the same and now have both accounts connected - which is great - but it seems to have gone back to before the open banking change - so i now have to enter security details when i want to update the bank accounts each time - at least i have access to both but just not this rubbish 'open banking' thing
Glad to hear you have got your HSBC account all connected and working, HSBC have changed the connection to this enables the customers to connect to it the old way until they sort the open banking issues out.
Problem with HSBC bank feeds, savings account wouldn't download transactions. Disconnected account with bank, then connected again waited 3 days. Then tried bank feed again with quick books and it's downloaded the transactions from the current account exactly the same for the savings, like 2 identical accounts and it does not give the correct info for the savings accounts. Anybody had this problem??.
When you disconnected the savings account and reconnected it did you search for 'HSBC Bank (UK) - Business Banking - Other Accounts' and selected this account type or not?
If not can you disconnect the savings account and add the one that says 'other accounts' please.
Let us know if it pulls through the correct transactions for that savings account.
