Keep your QuickBooks Practice Manager account active
by Intuit• Updated 2 months ago
Learn how to stay active, what happens if you don’t use QuickBooks Practice Manager for a while, and how to reactivate a deactivated account.
When an account is marked inactive
A Practice Manager workspace becomes inactive after 30 consecutive days with no user logins and no manual actions.
Manual actions include:
- Signing in to Practice Manager
- Creating or updating tasks, clients, or contacts
- Sending emails from the workspace
- Adding users
Note: Automated or scheduled background processes don't count as activity.
How to stay active
Sign in to Practice Manager at least once every 30 days. Any manual action resets the 30-day clock.
Reactivate a deactivated account (days 60–90)
You have 30 days after deactivation (from day 60 to day 90) to restore full access before your data is permanently deleted.
Do one of the following:
- Open any notification email and select the call-to-action link, or
- Go to QuickBooks Practice Manager and sign in to your account.
Then perform any manual action (for example, create or update a task). This immediately reactivates your workspace, restores all functionality (emails, integrations), and resets the 30-day inactivity clock.
