Updating your QuickBooks Time account during the Intuit Security Update

SOLVEDby QuickBooksUpdated over 1 year ago

As part of Intuit, QuickBooks Time is upgrading to the same security standards that protect TurboTax, Mint, and QuickBooks. All users will now have one account for everything Intuit, and your QuickBooks Time account will go through an upgrade

You’ll be notified in the QuickBooks Time app when it’s time to update your sign-in. If you already use any of the Intuit products, you can use your existing Intuit account to sign in to QuickBooks Time. If you don’t, we’ll help you update your existing QuickBooks Time sign-in to the new Intuit account. Once you’re notified, follow the prompts on the screen and use these steps to complete the update.

Note: All users will be required to have an email address associated with their account.

  1. On the update notification, select Continue
  2. Enter your current QuickBooks Time login credentials to verify it’s you.
  3. Next, one of the following will happen:
  • If your QuickBooks Time User ID matches an Intuit account you already have, you can choose to use that account
    1. If you have more than one Intuit account, pick your preferred account to use for QuickBooks Time.
    2. Select Sign in for the account you want to use and follow the prompts to complete your sign in.
    3. You will be shown a confirmation screen once the process is complete.
  • If you do not have a pre-existing Intuit account, and your QuickBooks Time credentials meet Intuit security standards, you don’t need to make any changes.
    1. You will be shown a confirmation screen to let you know the update is complete.
  • If you do not have a pre-existing Intuit account, and your QuickBooks Time account does not meet Intuit security standards, either user ID or password, you will be asked to update them.
    1. You will first be asked to verify your email on file. Select your email, then select Continue
    2. Look for an email from Intuit or QuickBooks Time, and enter the provided code in QuickBooks Time.
    3. Next, you will be prompted to update your User ID, Password, or both.
      • We recommend using your email address for your User ID so it is unique.
      • Your password will need to be 8 or more characters and must have two of the following: uppercase letter, lowercase letter, number, symbol.
    4. You will be shown a confirmation screen once the process is complete.

FAQ:

What do I need to do to be prepared for the update?

  • Make sure you know your QuickBooks Time username and password. You may be required to change your password if it doesn’t meet security standards.
  • If you use the QuickBooks Time mobile app, make sure you download the latest app from the app store or Play store.
  • If you already have an Intuit account that you want to use to access QuickBooks Time, make sure you know your username and password for that account.

I can’t remember my current password. How can I move forward with the update?

  • If you are prompted to update your account, but cannot remember your current password, you can select I forgot my password to reset it. Your account will be updated during account recovery.

Will information be shared between accounts, if I am using one login for all my Intuit products?

  • Nope! Your information in each product will not be shared with any other product. The only thing shared is how you log in.

What if I don’t update in time?

  • If you missed the update window, reach out to your admin to be reinvited to the account. Don’t worry, none of your account information will be lost.

As an administrator, what if I don’t update in time?

We’ll send you an email letting you know you need to complete the update. Find this email, then select Complete the update. You will be prompted to log in and complete the update. Once done, you will log in from tsheets.intuit.com.
