Here’s how to upgrade or downgrade your QuickBooks Payroll plan.

Learn how to change your QuickBooks Payroll plan to access more features or simplify your payroll service.

QuickBooks Payroll can grow with your business. If your payroll needs change, you can upgrade or downgrade your plan to suit your requirements.

This article is for customers who use QuickBooks Online Core, Premium, or Elite Payroll.

QuickBooks Online Payroll

Step 1: Choose a new plan

Check out the available plans to see which payroll service is right for you.

Step 2: Upgrade or downgrade your plan

  1. Sign in to QuickBooks Online as a primary or company admin.
  2. Go to Settings ⚙, and select Subscriptions and billing.
  3. Make sure your payment info is up-to-date.
  4. In the QuickBooks Online Payroll section, select Upgrade your plan or Downgrade your plan

If you don’t see this option, contact us for help with upgrading or downgrading. 

  1. Review the available plans and then select Choose plan.
  2. Follow the on-screen steps to upgrade your plan.
