Manage project posts and activity feed in QuickBooks Time

Learn how to view and manage project posts and activity feed in QuickBooks Time Elite.

Use project posts and activity feed to view, add, edit, or delete posts. This helps you keep your team members updated on a project’s progress.

View and manage project posts

View and manage project posts depending on which one you use:
Notes:

  • Anyone assigned to the project (including team members) can view and add posts. They can also reply to existing posts.
  • You can refresh the posts feed when you select A traffic light sitting on the side of a road. in the project posts window.

View posts

  1. Sign in to QuickBooks Time.
  2. Go to Projects, then find and select the project you want to view the posts for.
  3. Select Posts.

Add a post

  1. Go to Projects, then find and select the project you want to add a post to. Make sure the project is in progress.
    Note: If you’re clocked into the project, select Time Clock, then select Add a Project Post. This opens the project’s posts feed. Proceed to Step 3.
  2. Select Posts, then select New Post.
  3. Enter your message.
    Tips:
    • You can mention and notify your team members when you enter @. They’ll get the notification on their mobile phone or in the notification centre when they log in to QuickBooks Time.
    • You can also add attachments as needed:
      1. Select Attachments Attachments paper clip icon.
      2. Locate then select the files you want to attach to your post. You can add up to 8 attachments.
  4. Select Save.
  1. Go to Projects, then find and select the project you want to add a post to. Make sure the project is in progress.
    Note: If you’re clocked into the project, select Time Clock, then select + Add a Project Post. This opens the project’s posts feed. Proceed to Step 3.
  2. Select Posts, then select + New Post.

    • You can also add attachments as needed:

      2. Locate then select the files you want to attach to your post. You can add up to 8 attachments.
  4. Select Save.

Edit a post

  1. Go to Projects, then find and select the project with the post you want to edit. Make sure the project is in progress.
  2. Select Posts, then select Edit next to it.
  3. Make changes to the post as needed, then select Save.

  3. Find the post you want to edit, then select Edit next to it.
  4. Make changes to the post as needed, then select Save.

Delete a post

  1. Go to Projects, then find and select the project with the post you want to delete. Make sure the project is in progress.
  2. Select Posts, then select Delete next to it.
  3. Select Delete again to confirm.

  3. Find the post you want to delete, then select Delete next to it.
  4. Select Delete again to confirm.

Reply to a post

  1. Go to Projects, then find and select the project with the post you want to reply to. Make sure the project is in progress.
  2. Select Posts, then select Post reply.
  3. Enter your message, then select Reply.
    Tip: You can mention and notify your team members when you enter @. They’ll get the notification on their mobile phone or in the notification centre when they log in to QuickBooks Time.
  1. Go to Projects, then find and select the project with the post you want to reply to. Make sure the project is in progress.
  2. Select Posts.
  3. Find the post you want to reply, then select Post reply.
  4. Enter your message, then select Reply.

View posts

  1. Open the QuickBooks Workforce app.
  2. Go to Projects, then find and tap the project you want to view the posts for.

Add a post

  1. Go to Projects, then find and tap the project you want to add a post to. Make sure the project is in progress.
  2. Tap Add +.
  3. Enter your message.
    Tips:
    • You can mention and notify your team members when you enter @. They’ll get the notification on their mobile phone or in the notification centre when they log in to QuickBooks Time.
    • You can also add attachments as needed:
      1. Tap Attachments Attachments paper clip icon or Photos Image of the camera icon..
      2. Locate then tap the file or photo you want to attach to your post.
  4. Tap Save.

Edit a post

  1. Go to Projects, then find and tap the project with the post you want to edit. Make sure the project is in progress.
  2. Tap Posts, then tap More options Image Alt Text.
  3. Tap Edit post, make your changes, then tap Save.

Delete a post

  1. Go to Projects, then find and tap the project with the post you want to delete. Make sure the project is in progress.
  2. Tap Posts, tap More options Image Alt Text, then tap Delete post.

Reply to a post

  1. Go to Projects, then find and tap the project with the post you want to reply to. Make sure the project is in progress.
  2. Tap Comment Image of the comment icon., enter your message, then tap Reply Image of the send icon..

View project activities

View project activities to see updates on a project's progress.

Notes:

  • Anyone assigned to the project (including team members) can view the activity feed.
  • The project activity feed isn’t available on the QuickBooks Workforce mobile app.
  1. Sign in to QuickBooks Time.
  2. Go to Projects, then select the project you want to view the activities for. Make sure the project is in progress.
  3. Select Activity. This shows the actions taken on the project:
    • Clock ins and outs
    • Added posts and photos
    • Added locations with maps
    • Any additions or edits to the project details, including new tasks and estimates

Tip: You can refresh the activity feed when you select A traffic light sitting on the side of a road. in the project posts window.
