QuickBooks Online price changes

Effective December 4, 2024, new pricing will be displayed on the QuickBooks website. For our existing customers using QuickBooks Self Employed, Simple Start, Essentials, Plus, or Advanced, the updated prices will apply from your first billing date after January 15, 2025.

Why are prices increasing?

We understand that price increases can be challenging, and we value your business. QuickBooks is committed to supporting small businesses and mid-market customers, especially during market fluctuations. This price change allows us to continue investing in and improving our products to meet your needs better and keep up with market standards.

Which QuickBooks products are affected and when?

  • Existing customers: If you're currently subscribed to QuickBooks Self Employed, Simple Start, Essentials, Plus, or Advanced, the new prices will take effect on your first billing date from January 15, 2025.
  • New customers and upgrades: For new customers or existing customers upgrading their subscription plans, the price changes will be effective starting December 4, 2024.

What’s changing with QuickBooks Online Payroll prices?

  • New customers to QuickBooks Online Core Payroll will see the subscription price increase to £5.
  • Existing customers with Core Payroll subscriptions purchased before December 4, 2024 won't be affected by this price change.
  • The subscription price for QuickBooks Online Advanced Payroll will increase by £2, bringing it to £10 per month.
  • The per employee fee for both Core and Advanced Payroll remains unchanged.

How will I be notified about the price changes? 

Accountants and small to medium business customers will be notified of the price changes via email. To receive important updates, make sure your email address is up-to-date in your QuickBooks account settings.

What if I didn’t receive an email about the prices changes? 

If you didn't receive an email, please check your spam/junk folder. If you still can't find it, ensure that your email provider or application allows emails from Intuit and isn't moving them to another folder. You can also follow this guide for further help.

I recently upgraded. Will I be subject to the price increase?

Yes. If you upgraded before December 4, 2024, the current price will be honoured for 6 months from the purchase date. For example, a subscription purchased on November 15, 2024 will move to the new pricing on May 15, 2025.

Can I change my subscription plan?

Yes, you can change plans anytime in your Account and settings under Billing & Subscription. However, please be aware that the new pricing will be applied to your subscription upon any plan change.

I cancelled my subscription and missed the 30-day re-subscribe period. Can I get the old pricing?

No, you will be charged the current list price if you re-subscribe after the 30-day period.

I have a discounted subscription. Will the price changes affect me?

Your price remains unaffected until your promotional discount expires. After expiration, the monthly rate will be adjusted to the new list price.
