Automatically match QuickBooks Online product transactions

by Intuit• Updated 3 days ago

Learn how QuickBooks Online matches QuickBooks Payments transactions.

When you download bank transactions, new ones must currently be matched manually. QuickBooks can now do this automatically for QuickBooks Payments transactions.

Note: Automatic matching may not be available in all accounts yet.

Manage automatic matching

You can turn automatic matching off or on at any time.

  1. Go to All apps A bunch of numbers and letters on a tile wall., select Accounting, then select Bank transactions (Take me there).
  2. Select the Posted tab.
  3. Select the settings icon âš™ at the top of the transaction list.
  4. Turn the Automatic matching switch On or Off.

When automatic matching is off, you’ll need to manually match any new transactions.

Why can't QuickBooks automatically match all transactions

Not all transactions can be automatically matched by QuickBooks. For example, if your bank doesn't provide a unique user ID for QuickBooks Payments, QuickBooks won't be able to match them. In these cases, you'll still need to do it manually.
