Learn how to send a P45 to an employee leaving your employment in QuickBooks Online Advanced Payroll.
Once you terminate an employee, their P45 form will be available in the HMRC/AE section of their employee profile.
Make sure that you've made all the final payments to the employee and finalised their payslips so that the correct year-to-date figures are included in the P45.
Email or download the P45 form
- Go to Payroll and then select Employees.
- Select the employee's name. If you can't see their name in the list, use the filter All Employees.
- Select HMRC/AE Forms.
- Select View to open the P45 form. You have the option to Email the form to the employee or Download it.
- If you'd like to send an email to the employee containing their P45 as an attachment, select Send notification. You also have the option to re-send a notification if needed.
