by Intuit•3• Updated 1 month ago
Note: To record deductions in QuickBooks Online Standard Payroll, see this article.
With QuickBooks Online Core Payroll, you can keep track and submit your CIS (Construction Industry Scheme) deductions to HMRC.
Before you start recording them, make sure to switch on the CIS feature in your settings.
Important: You have until April 18 to enter CIS suffered for the payroll tax year 2023'24. However, you can only add CIS suffered from April 6 onwards if you have changed your active tax year in the payroll settings to tax year 2024'25. |
- Select the gear icon and then Account and settings.
- Select Payroll Settings.
- Next to CIS Suffered, select the pencil icon.
- Enter the total CIS Suffered amount for that period including the date.
- Select Save Record.
You can add and update the CIS deductions as needed for each period. You can check the total amounts suffered per period and access both the CIS suffered and P32 reports.
Are you switching to QuickBooks from another payroll software?
If you’re moving your payroll from another software to QuickBooks Online Core Payroll and have recorded CIS deductions in the past, you’ll need to manually add these. Please note that you can only add amounts for one tax year at a time, starting from 2023 onwards.
