Change and delete shifts in QuickBooks Time

Learn how to change, edit, reassign and delete shifts in QuickBooks Time. Also learn, how to revert a published shift to draft status.

Notes:

  • Only administrators, managers, and team members granted the Manage schedules for their group permission can change or delete shifts.
  • When a shift is changed or deleted, all team members assigned to that shift are notified, and all of their calendars are updated.

Revert a published shift to draft status

  1. Choose the shift, and select Edit.
  2. Select Save Draft.

Change or delete a shift assigned to one team member

Do one of the following:

  • Double-click the shift, make your changes, and select Publish.
  • Drag the shift, and select Publish.

Do one of the following:

  • Double-click the shift, select the X next to the old name, enter a new name, and select Publish.
  • In VIEW BY Team Member, select and drag the shift to another team member.

The previously and newly assigned team member will receive notifications.

Select the bin icon () > Delete. The shift will be removed from the team member's calendar, and they'll receive a notification.

Change or delete a shift assigned to multiple team members

  1. Next to VIEW BY, select Job or Customer.
  2. Do one of the following:
    • Double-click the team shift, make the changes, and select Publish.
    • Drag the shift, and select Publish.

If you are in VIEW BY Team Member:

  1. Double-click the shift, and make your changes.
  2. Select EDIT ALL, and select Publish.

Double-click the shift, select the X next to the old names, enter new names, and select Publish.

The previously and newly assigned team members will receive notifications.

Select the bin icon () > Delete. The shift will be removed from the assigned team members' calendars, and they'll receive notifications.
