Changes to bank feeds for NatWest commercial cards

Learn more about the changes to NatWest commercial card bank feeds in QuickBooks and how to reconnect using ClearSpend.


What’s happening?

NatWest (part of RBS Group) has introduced a new service called ClearSpend for commercial card holders. To keep your NatWest commercial card connected to QuickBooks and continue receiving bank feeds, you now need to switch to ClearSpend.

ClearSpend is a free mobile app and desktop service that lets you manage your commercial card in real time, giving you and your employees easy access to balances and transactions.

Important: The QuickBooks integration only works with ClearSpend for NatWest commercial cards.


What you need to do

If you haven’t already, register for ClearSpend through NatWest.

  1. Follow this link to complete the steps in product Open this link in a new window
  2. Select the tile for your NatWest commercial card account.
  3. Click the pencil ✎ icon to edit the account.
  4. Choose Edit account info.
  5. Tick the box for Disconnect this account on save.
  6. Click Save and close.
  1. Go to Banking in QuickBooks Online.
  2. Click Add bank.
  3. Search for and select NatWest Bank.
  4. Follow the on-screen steps to connect your commercial card through ClearSpend.

What if you use other NatWest accounts?

If you have other NatWest accounts connected to QuickBooks (such as personal or business current accounts), your existing bank feed will stop working soon. You will need to reconnect those accounts using the appropriate provider link, for example:

  • NatWest - Personal Banking - Current Accounts
  • NatWest - Business Banking - Current Accounts
