Dataswitcher conversion limitations for Xero when moving to QuickBooks Online

SOLVEDby QuickBooks13Updated over 1 year ago

When moving from Xero to QuickBooks Online using Dataswitcher, there will be some information that we can't convert and some information will look different when converted. In this article, we'll explain the conversion limitations on the types of data.

Multi-currency

All data will be converted in the home currency of the company. After moving to QuickBooks, follow these steps to correctly reflect the multi-currency amounts.

Departments and projects

Tracking classes in Xero will become Locations in Quickbooks Online.

Journal merge

Xero keeps a detailed journal history for all operations. Because of the large volume of information on Customers/Suppliers level, the migration will merge journals related to Credits, Prepayments, and Overpayments in order to keep an accurate balance on all accounts.

This means that older period reports might not represent the correct balance at that time even if all the current and outstanding balances are correct.
