Resubscribe to or reactivate QuickBooks Online

SOLVEDby QuickBooks40Updated February 07, 2024

Need to resubscribe? No problem! We'd love to have you back.

You should be prompted to resubscribe as soon as you sign in to your QuickBooks Online company. If not, follow these steps.

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online company.
  2. Go to Settings ⚙ and select Subscriptions and billing.
  3. Select Resubscribe.
  4. Select the New payment method (Credit/Debit Card or PayPal).
  5. Enter the updated payment and billing information.
  6. Select Resubscribe.

Next, you'll have to sign out and in again to make sure your QuickBooks Online account is updated.

  1. Sign out, then sign in again.
  2. Go to Settings ⚙ and select Subscriptions and billing.
  3. Check the Next charge date. If it's a date in the past, contact support to prevent back-billed charges from occurring.

Frequently asked questions

No. It's our policy not to back-bill.

We preserve your company data for 365 days after the cancellation date in a read-only view. If you resubscribe during that time, your data will still be available.

Billing for all QuickBooks Online accounts happens overnight, so the charge won't occur until after midnight.

For example, if you resubscribe on 01/06/2023, the next charge date would be 02/06/2023, and the charge would occur very early on 02/06/2023.

The Subscriptions and billing area is currently only available in the web version of QuickBooks Online, so you'll need to sign in using a computer browser.
