Prerequisites to move to QuickBooks Online through Dataswitcher

Learn what you need to do before using Dataswitcher to migrate to QuickBooks Online.

Moving to QuickBooks Online?  Here are three things you need to do before converting to QuickBooks Online using Dataswitcher.

Delete your QuickBooks Online data

Dataswitcher can only convert to an empty QuickBooks Online account. If you already have existing QuickBooks Online data, you need to restore your settings, delete your data, and start over in QuickBooks Online.

Disable taxes

Dataswitcher doesn't convert taxes to prevent calculation differences. We use a tried and tested method for the first VAT report instead. To learn more, check out Submit your first VAT report after your conversion to QuickBooks Online.

Enable multi-currency

If you select multi-currency as an option, enable it before the conversion by following these steps:

1. Login to QuickBooks Online.
2. Select Settings ⚙️.
3. Choose Account and Settings, then select Advanced.
4. Under Currency, select Edit ✎ .
5. Choose your home currency then enable Multicurrency.
